U.S. Issues Terror Warning in New Delhi
Aug 11 2:30 AM US/Eastern
NEW DELHI
The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi warned Friday that foreign militants, possibly al-Qaida members, may be planning to carry out bombings in India's two major cities in the coming days.
In an e-mail sent to American citizens living in India, the embassy said New Delhi, the capital, and Bombay, the country's financial and entertainment hub, were the likely targets, and the attacks were believed to be planned for either before or on India's Independence Day, August 15.
The embassy confirmed that it had sent the e-mail, although Indian officials refused to comment on the warning.
Word of the alleged plot came a day after British police said they had thwarted a terrorist plan, possibly just days away, to blow up U.S.- bound jetliners over the Atlantic. Investigators described a plan on the scale of 9/11 that would use common electronic devices to detonate liquid explosives to bring down as many as 10 planes.
The U.S. Embassy's warning for India said the "likely targets include major airports, key central Indian government offices, and major gathering places such as hotels and markets."
It urged American citizens to maintain a low profile and be especially alert and attentive to their surroundings between Aug. 11 and Aug. 16.

American citizens alert? Gee, don't ask for much do they.
Maybe if America kept a low profile around the world, these alleged 'threats' would not be happening...
Pearl Jam on Toast...sliverstain...stil can't see the similarity.
Yeah, that's it...
Intelligence is getting better in the US since 2001. Stop the presses.

This guy was on CNN and SKY the other night after briefing the Pentagon.
He states, through research and fact, that 95% of attacks since 1980 have been due to Western interference and occupation of Muslim lands.
Suicide bombers and their organizations
RAY SUAREZ: Professor Pape, as someone who's been studying suicide attackers for a long time, can you say that there's a profile? Is there a set of variables or underlying motivations that many of these bombers hold in common?
ROBERT PAPE: We can. But it's not the profile most people expect. I've studied 462 suicide terrorists from around the world since 1980 who actually completed the mission. Over half are secular. The world leader is the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka: A Marxist group, a secular group, a Hindu group.
Instead of religion, what over 95 percent of all suicide terrorist attacks since 1980, all around the world have in common is a specific strategic goal, to compel modern democracies to withdraw combat forces from territory the terrorists prize greatly.

I supported a viewpoint based on fact and presented the research behind that viewpoint.
I even posted a link to the Bush School. Can't get any fairer than that, can I?
An example of well reasoned, honest, constructive debate.

Any links to maps or reports about that chief?
