Next up, Pearl Jam vs Nirvana

They're in the Elite 8, which is mighty impressive, but the Final Four would be sweet, especially if they could beat Nirvana.

Voting starts at 1:00 pm (EST)

People are calling in saying pearl jam has like 1 or 2 good songs and that they have gone down hill.. I still want to know how Sublime beat Alice in chains..
or linkin park beat Audioslave kids today.

I lost all faith in the radio-listening public years ago, and it's good to see I am still right.

90% of "rock" radio stations are not aware that PJ has released anything other then TEN. The other 10% are vaguely aware of VS.

98.9 The Bear out of Ft. Wayne only knows of Jeremy, Alive, and Even Flow. But, 90% of there listening audience would make Forest Gump look like a Rhode's Scholar, so if the shoe fits . . .

Couldn't agree more. I just think it would be awesome to top Nirvana in something, just once. They always steal the show, PJ is David to Nirvana's Goliath in seemingly all list rankings, contests, etc.

Does any of it really matter? Not at all, but it's Friday and I'm bored at work! :)

    Voted.

Radio guys don't realize where PJ is now in their career. They are viewing through an early 90s lens in which Nirvana were the like Doors or something. No comparison to the depth of music PJ creates now. Question is would Nrivana have grown musically or collapsed under their own weight. I remember that band well and I don't think they would have survived even if Curt did.

Voting seems to be closed. The last update the DJ said Nirvana took the lead, but then PJ was ahead again going into the last few minutes......

I guess we just wait for the results...GO PJ!!!!!

There was a great radio DJ in Raleigh, NC in the '97-'99 when I was living there. He used to play a shitload of PJ songs because he was a diehard fan. Not just the hits and singles, but also fan favorites as well. I think I first hard Breath, SOL&T, I Got ID, Crazy Mary, RVM, STBC, In My Tree, etc...

I thank him for making me another diehard fan because I bought Yield the day it came out and became obsessed ever since. WE NEED MORE DJ LIKE THAT! Who's willing to go against their bosses and he wasn't on a small station neither, it was Kroq's version in Raleigh.

Looks like the voting is done. DJ said it was EXTREMELY close, so win or lose, they should have a good showing. Results should be up momentarily.
