CNN keeps or running this story about a web site (group) called 'The great schlep'

http://www.thegreatschlep.com/site/index.html

I guess it's pretty interesting, trying to get old jewish people to vote for Obama, like try and convince them that he is a better choice and will be good for America.

Some talking point

-Obama loves Israel
-Obama is a Christian and never been Muslim
-Biden is a zionist

The Great Schlep aims to have Jewish grandchildren visit their grandparents in Florida, educate them about Obama, and therefore swing the crucial Florida vote in his favor. Don’t have grandparents in Florida? Not Jewish? No problem! You can still become a schlepper and make change happen in 2008, simply by talking to your relatives about Obama.

The CNN segment about this had interviews with some Old Jewish people in Florida, many of them openly said that they didnt want to vote for Obama because he's black and so on.

  • Personally I wouldn't be so critical of Israel, and those who openly support (Obama MCain...et al), if Israel wasn't forcefully taking land from the West Bank and establishing Jewish only (not me or you or *anyone* else) racial colonies, by bulldozing homes, then backing it up with a standing army designed to enact lethal force to those who disagree or protest.

I mean it's called the West Bank for a reason. It has a name, and a line going around it on a map for a reason.

Can you imagine say Texas doing that in Mexico? The US army moves in and wipes out villages of people to put up white christian *only* housing developments, and then they surround it with a standing (and rather aggressive) army?

The media remains silent, and Israel claims it wants peace, yet nothing is really ever done to help solve the situation in that region. The opposite is happening actually, the land grabs are increasing....but they want "peace". hmm...forgive my skepticism.

Until there is some kind of solution in that regard, there will never be any peace in that region....and any politician that claims they want "peace", but support that reality like no other, are bent sideways in the head when it comes to logic.

This is a major contention in the Arab world, and until that is resolved...nothing will ever be resolved...there will always be opposing sides, and ongoing violence.

...but nobody talks about it, as the media simply refers to it as "fighting terrorism"

    fighting the bad people.

    Yep,

also when one takes into account these things Israel does, one must wonder how someone can support Israel and claim to be fair and just. Like (for example) Obama does.

Imagine American politicians supporting South Africa during apartheid. That they agree is bad, but when it comes to Israel. It's for some reason fair. When the ANC bombed clubs and buildings in South Africa, they were freedom fighters in the eyes of many. (except perhaps for dick cheney-1986 vote)

It's mind boggling. I mean they must know the score, McCain Obama etc.. (obviously) but aren't saying anything about it because nobody really has looked into it enough to make it an issue. When enough people finally wake up and begin to see to the reality of it, you can bet they'll (politicians) start talking around it like it's "so important" to them as well.

This is why I dislike the current breed of politicians being churned out these days. These are the very people who are responsible and are getting paid to know, and to make moral and just *well informed* decisions based of *vast wealths* of intelligence briefings and ongoing up to the minute reports collected from around the world.

I mean honestly...what a con. Slippery snakes with frosty sugar coatings wanna get your vote, and make it "all better".
