Sheriff Has Said Majority Of Robberies Committed By Juveniles
POSTED: 12:55 pm EST January 18, 2007
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orange County commissioners may consider enacting a teen curfew next month, according to Local 6 News.
Orange County Commissioner Mildred Fernandez said she will propose a curfew to the county commission at a meeting in February.
Fernandez said a curfew is necessary because a growing number of juveniles have recently been arrested on drug and violent-crime charges
(I love this part)
Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said in December that 84 percent of robberies in Orange County are committed by persons between the ages of 13 and 18. He had said he arrived at that figure following a six-week crime crackdown called Operation Street Sweeper.
"A lot of the burglaries are happening during the day time, and we're finding out that the majority are truants from school," Beary said.
wtf? a lot of the burglaries happen during the day so they need curfew for the night? yeah, makes sense.

And Kevin Beary's quote about school truancy, daytime burglaries, and nighttime curfews is typical. This is the same guy who has spent the past two years under investigation for misc. wrongdoings. In one instance, he was accused of harassing a citizen who called him fat in a letter to the editor. I wonder if I can find a link about that...
its not that bad..lol
stop watching the local news
A lot of minorities living in Orange County?
You mean people of color? well yeah, so many infact I think it's fair to call them the majority. But I don't have the exact stats.
I just wanted to see how it felt to type out that kind of question. I already checked the stats on the county to see what the population was all about.
oh and of course, nothing offical on the number of people without papers, mainly from south america.
