Hooters Chairman Wants To Send FEMA $200

The chairman of the Hooters restaurant chain wants to send FEMA a $200 check.

That's because someone purchased a $200 bottle of champagne at one of the company's restaurants with a credit card issued to Hurricane Katrina victims.

So the company's chairman wants to give the money back.

The champagne purchased in San Antonio was just one of many examples of improper spending of hurricane relief money.

Bogus spending from Katrina relief funds could be as high as $1 billion

kinda weird/funny eh?

Yikes! Good for Hooters, I wonder if this information was made public before the decision to refund the money to FEMA. I suppose that dosn't matter though.

I hope that whatever happens, we will learn a lesson from this and perhaps come up with a better solution should another disaster happen in the future.

So sad, there are children out there who's parents can't afford diapers for them after Katrina, and some who are out living it up at FEMA's expense. :(
  • Hooters has a individual bottle of $200 champagne or just several boxes of champagne that cost $200 all together?
