Train info from DC to NY
Traveling from DC to NY.....checked out Amtrak...not cheap...what are my alternatives? If I do take train...should I pre-purchase tickets or just buy at station when I get there.
Thanks

A buddy of mine just took a bus from DC to NY (lets you off in Chinatown I think) to meet me for a Mets game. It was like $30 round trip or something crazy low like that. Sorry I don't have more details, but there should be some info available via the web on bus schedules to NYC.9/24/96, 6/14/98, 9/18/98, 8/3/00, 9/1/00, 9/4/00, 4/28/03, 7/5/03, 7/6/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 10/1/04, 9/15/05, 9/16/05, 9/19/05, 9/30/05, 10/03/05, 5/13/06, 5/27/06, 5/28/06, 6/1/06, 6/3/06, 6/19/08, 6/20/08, 6/24/08, 6/25/08, 8/7/08 (Eddie solo)0

check out megabus.com and boltbus.com They are like $10-$20 if you leave earlier in the day. I'm taking the bolt bus mon. morning with my friend from DC. Bolt is supposedly run by Greyhound and is supposed to be clean and has wifi even.I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

im going from union station in DC to penn station in new york for 70 i think? amtrak. pretty decent. its fast, not stuck on a bus and they have a snack cart. and you get to see lots of stuff. i did amtrak from boston to philly to dc in 06 too. its worth it.Van '98, Sea I+II '00, Sea '01, Sea II '02, Van '03, Gorge, Van, Cal, Edm '05, Bos I+II, Phi I+II, DC, SF II+III, Port, Gorge I+II '06, DC, NY I+II '08, Sea I+II, Van, Ridge , LA III+IV' 09, Indy '10, Cal, Van '11, Lond, Van, Sea '13, Memphis '14, RRHOF '17, Sea I+II '18, Van I+II, Vegas I+II, Sea I+II '240
