Sony pulls controversial Dutch PSP ad

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) — Sony said Tuesday it had pulled a Dutch billboard advertising campaign for the new white version of its PlayStation Portable video game player and apologized to anyone offended by the ad, which critics dubbed racist.
A billboard ad in the campaign — which Sony said was launched in the first week of June and created locally and exclusively for the Dutch market — portrayed a white woman aggressively grabbing the face of a black woman and read "PlayStation Portable White is Coming."

btw, anyone own a psp? will they ever make PS3 games for it? I mean can the machine handle it? I have no idea.

    LOL well it's good satire but it was never going to wash commercially.

    they should have released the white console first and then had the commercial with the roles reversed. the only fallout would have been a few white people grumbling.
