    When my unit was in Iraq, they moved some local national guard guys into our barracks. One night, one of em tightened his belt around his neck, slammed the top of his bathroom door on the other end and proceeded to walk forward choking himself, with one hand hand on his junk and the other on a cell phone (probably phone sex) he then proceeded to masturbate. I guess he finished the deed, but slipped on SOMETHING and totally died.

    His squad leader assumed he got drunk and that's why he missed formation the next morning, after getting the master key, they found him wearing nothing but a brown T-shirt. I believe the term is Auto-Erotic aphyxiation.

    My buddys wife was a military police investigator and one of the first on the scene, that's how we got the whole story. At least he died happy, right?

    This should have never happened and in my opinion which everyone is intiltled to i think its the parents in this case who where very wrong, imaging thinking "oh lets play hang ourselfs as a kid!" no never would that have happened in my family and i come from a big family because my parents told us what was good for us and what was bad!

    you are correct my grammar sucks but my sympathy is very large specially for the family of this poor child and me being a parent i allways feel for a dead child who could of been saved ..........

    hey I feel sorry for the family too. its horrible. but millar's statement that the kid is an idiot is correct. he did not try to commit suicide he made a dumb move and died

    i'm not blaming anyone here. as the father of a five year old, its hard to predict what kids are going to do. i know ten is much different than five, but i can easily picture a ten year old not understanding that this would really kill him - death is so often fake on television. what's worse is that he may have known exactly what he was doing. its tragic either way. the only think i can think of to say to prevent these things is that parents need to keep a constant open dialog with their kids. but you can never predict everything they are going to do. i know when i was a kid that age, i pulled a lot of stunts that easily could have killed me.

    can we blame it on television? i don't know. but i find it odd that the government is looking to take action against the man who took the video and released it, but has yet to request that the media not show it. they shouldn't ban it, but i think leaders should appeal to peoples' reason.
