Israel building homes in occupied West Bank

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel announced plans on Sunday to build hundreds of new homes in an area of the occupied West Bank the Israeli government considers part of Jerusalem, despite U.S. and Palestinian calls to halt settlement expansion.
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, a leading voice of Palestinian moderation, accused Israel of "trampling" on peacemaking, which resumed just six months ago after a seven-year breakdown.
Housing Minister Zeev Boim notified Israel's cabinet at its weekly meeting that he planned to build 763 apartments in Pisgat Zeev and 121 in Har Homa, large Jewish neighbourhoods Israel built after capturing and annexing Jerusalem's eastern sector following the 1967 Middle East War.
The fate of Jerusalem lies at the crux of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Palestinians hope to make east Jerusalem the capital of their future state, and they say continued Israeli construction threatens that goal and makes it difficult to win public support for peace talks.
The contentious construction "strips the political process of any meaningful content," Fayyad told The Associated Press. "I am really at a loss trying to really find reasons to be encouraged or optimistic."

And anyway, the Palestinians refuse to 'recognize' Israel.

LOL...so if I break into your house, shoot you, and plant a big flag that reads "Farfromglorified kicks ass" on your roof, do I "have a right to do whatever I want with your land"?

Are you under the impression that Israel is not "breaking the law"?

Yes the US is a country, Israel, firstly is hardly one. it will not be able to sustain itself without America. what kind of country is that? It's also been in war since it's birth. I mean it has not stopped, I mean look at it, at it's core the war is still going on, everyday killing over the land.
Israel everyday breaking laws. Where is the punishment? Now you tell me, what kind of country is this? it sounds like another planet.

That's true -- war between two nations involves many houses.
The only people that are capable of being "truly the right religion" the ones "chosen by god".
No kidding those commandeering the state of Israel truly believe this nutty shit.
brainwashed to murder..
totally brainwashed.
Watch this sometime:
"Flipping Out - Israel's Drug Generation"
"As part of a season marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel, Yoav Shamir's documentary looks at why so many young Israelis use their National Service discharge bonus to go backpacking in northern India and Goa, with a high proportion experimenting with drugs and consequently suffering mental breakdowns."
Looks like Google and Youtube, BBC, AOL, etc...etc.. have pulled all the trailers and vids (correct me if I'm wrong) looks like it's being wiped off the internet. UK folks might be able to get it direct from the BBC's website.
You'll have to try torrenting it.

Lot's of bong toking...and ex Israeli's soldiers getting high 24/7 in the beautiful mountains of India....and basically losing their minds by coming to terms over what they have done to the Palestinians.
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Partial true...though the UN was create to talk about these issues, not to actually do anything about them
Oh yeah it's beautiful and scenic right? Historic? Safe? Insurance is cheap? Good Schools...????
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN
"The UN was founded in 1945 to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between nations and to provide a platform for dialogue."
Though I agree that it "talks" more than it "does" anything
Yep, that's what I meant...what it does is really different than what it said it'd do.
I continue to be disappointed in the actions of Israel and Palestine...that is 1 mess I'm glad I don't have to try and fix.
They mostly comm the U.S.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_settlements
'In addition to internal migration, in large though declining numbers, the settlements absorb annually about 1000 new immigrants from outside Israel. In the 90's, the annual settler population growth was more than three times the annual population growth in Israel.[13] In the 00's, the large settler population growth continues.
The Israeli governments have implemented a consistent and systematic policy intended to encourage Jewish citizens to migrate to the West Bank. One of the tools used to this end is to grant financial benefits and incentives to citizens.'
2 nations? so you must therefore recognise that the palestinians had/have a NATION to be invaded? yes/no?
