Iran is against the current administration. however, ahmadinejad even said himself he's looking forward to a new administration that he can deal with. if obama were to open up more trade, etc, with iran, and start up more diplomatic ties, i'm sure it would convince iran to be more open about their nuclear program (whatever "more open" is supposed to mean anyway... i think they've done enough)...

the key is to open up diplomatic ties with Iran in general. their nuclear program would be nothing if we were to become allies.

Or just get it all on the table...say "Israel, if you want Iran to come clean and open up to inspections...then you need to open up as well..for it to be fair"

i think somewhere after when we took out their massively popular first democraticaly elected president in history, then installed a brutal repressive dictator who murdered the people, backed iraq as it attacked iran, then when the people rose up to overthrow that evil dictator that we implanted, we imposed sanctions upon iran which killed countless civilians ...

somewhere after that, i think the top brass got a little scared that there may be some animosity or "hatred" towards the "great satan".

I don't know why they would think that though.
