Ron Allen: "To be fair her resume' is not something we're used to seeing with Presidential Candidates"

Newt: "Well it's stronger than Obama's. I don't know why you guys walk around saying this Baloney! She has a stronger resume than Obama. She's been a real mayor. he hasn't. She's been a real governor. He hasn't. She's been in charge of the Alaska National Guard, He hasn't. She was a wistleblower who defeated an incumbent mayor, Obama has never once shown that kind of courage. She's a whistleblower who turned in the chairman of her own party and even got him fined twelve thousand dollars. I've never seen Obama do one thing like that. She took on the incumbent governor of her own party and then beat him, she then beat a democratic governor in a general election. I don't know of a *single* thing Obama's done except talk and write. And I'd like to to tell me one thing Obama's done?"

Ron Allen trying to hold back tears: "uh, I'm gonna leave that right there, I'm not gonna argue the case," back to the Obama BJ and Palin smear job.

So what has Obama done?

Well he did vote for immunity for telecommunications companies to get them to turn over their records so Americans could be spied on. That's a good thing, right? :)

Nothing and it just goes to show what a terrible combo these two are. It's still gauranteed that Obama will be the next President.

a full flop. i love it! she was for the bridge when she was running for the governor but when she saw all the details she decided that it was not worth it. how is that a flip flop that is a chnage of opinion based on the facts. Obama has done that also and so has every good leader.

I've figured out why they picked Sarah Palin. It's genius, because every time her resume is questioned, her experience is gauged, anything, Republicans can't seem to find things to say about her, so they bring it back to Obama, i.e. "what has he done?" Maybe the entire point was to pick someone so shitty that everytime anyone in the media brought up how shitty the pick was, they could say "yeah, but not as shitty as Obama!"

As for what Obama has done, he's sponsored or co-sponsored articles of legislation in the U.S. Senate regarding net neutrality, the prevention of terrorists getting a hold of nuclear weapons, ethics reform, humanitarian aid to Central Africa. Also, he co-sponsored the "Transparency Act", which tracked every dime of federal spending and made it viewable by the public online. There's more in the U.S. Senate and more in the eight years as a State Senator.

As for experience, I say again, it only goes to a certain point. According to the talking heads feelings on executive experience, then George W. Bush is more qualified than anyone currently running for President. Does anybody really believe that? You're not always voting for experience, but a combination of experience, judgment, character, etc. John McCain has 25 years in the Senate, voting the opposite way on issues that I think this country needs to go in. Why would I vote for that? Experience doesn't usually win you elections. If it did, Bush would have lost to both Kerry and Gore, Dole would have beat Clinton, Bush 1 would have beaten Clinton, so on and so forth.

Jesus Christ its Alaska, two eskimos, five oil workers, six grizzlies, a host of reindeer and no sex education.

--Oh yeah, that COURAGEOUS whistleblowing to smit your fellow republican was a self-serving act to get her elected governor and appointed to Alaska Oil and Gas Commission. When did backstabbing become noble? If she does that to get to be mayor, and then abuse her elected powers on the hated brother-in-law, what can the country expect?

-- Didn't mention the fact that she petition the Department of Interior to ensure that polar bears would not be put on the endangered species list an action which would have severely limited any offshore drilling around Alaska.

-- Didn't mention anything about allowing Japan's continued right to fish Alaskan waters.

-- Didn't mention that bravo of when she imposed additional taxes on the oil companies, they stopped drilling. She may be the governor, but the oil companies own the oil under the land and they reaped HUGE tax benefits from not drilling while the State of Alaska and the federal government still had to pay them royalities.

--Didn't mention Tongass National Forest that was open up to logging.

    --Didn't metion Pebble Mine.

-- Here's a non-issue. Every governor has authority over their their National Guard. When did she have the need to call out the Alaskan National Guard, to control her State Trooper brother-in-law? Has she lobbied for better treatment of Guardsmen returning from Iraq and Afghanistan?

--Alaska's has received millions in earmarks and the pipeline is still in need of repair which the taxpayers will end up paying a large amount along with the increase gas prices. While Alaska continues to get stipends.

Mayors and governors don't vote on important national policy Bills before Congress, that's left to Representatives and Senators.

Ron Allen trying to hold back tears: "uh, I'm gonna leave that right there, I'm not gonna argue the case," back to the Obama BJ and Palin smear job.

    So what has Obama done?

here we go again... Obama's accomplishments in both the US and Illinois senate have been posted here over and over again, but I guess it's easier to just ignore it and keep saying that he hasn't done anything.

As far as Newt's crush on Palin, let's look at his claims:

She's been a real mayor... of a town with less people in it than the bleachers in Wrigley Field. And she did such great things like fire the librarian because of some books with offensive titles in the library.

She's been a real governor. Yes... for less than 2 years

She's been in charge of the Alaska National Guard. C'mon... the federal gov't controls and deploys the national guard

She was a wistleblower who defeated an incumbent mayor. Sure about that Newt? She was elected, but not because of being a whistleblower or anything like that.

She's a whistleblower who turned in the chairman of her own party and even got him fined twelve thousand dollars. He's right about that.

She took on the incumbent governor of her own party and then beat him, she then beat a democratic governor in a general election. Great... she won a couple elections. Obama won 3 state senate elections and a US Senate one.

Look, besides thinking that she is an ideological nutjob, I don't have anything against her. But Newt is making her out to be something special.

And in reality, if she wasn't a woman, with her background, she would never have been asked to be on the ticket.

It was nice watching Newt yesterday after the reporter asked him about Sarah Palin's husband's DUI charge from 20 years ago (which is complete bullshit of course, that has no bearing), and Newt says, "You know, it's complete baloney. Do you hear the New York Times talking about...." and then proceeded to try and set a record for how many times in one minute you could fit the words "Obama" and "cocaine" into the same sentence.

    Ah, politics.

As much as I think the race is still Obama's to lose ... if Palin hits it out of the park tonight, and if McCain gets the kind of convention bump Obama thought he was gonna get but didn't ... the Democrats might be in a little bit of trouble heading down the homestretch.

I'd remind you that McCain is in better shape right now than Bush was at this time in 2004.
