My friend Michael Franti and his band Spearhead will say it in the video "YELL FIRE" a revolution a come.

I first heard this song in London, 2 weeks after he returned from Iraq and he rocked the Jazz Cafe In Camden for 3 nights. Here are the words to his last album Yell Fire:

    Michael Franti Yell Fire Lyrics

A revolution never come with a warning
A revolution never sends you an omen
A revolution just arrived like the morning
Ring the alarm we come to wake up the snoring

They tellin' you to worry about the future
They tellin' you to never worry about the torture
They tellin' you that you'll never see the horror
Spend it all today and we will bill you tomorrow
Three piece suits and bank accounts in Bahamas
Wall street crime will never send you to the slammer
Tell all the children in the arms of their mummas
The F-15 is a homocide bomber

TV commercials for a popping pill culture
Drug companies circling like a vulture
An Iraqi babies with a G.I. Joe father
Ten years from now is anybody gonna bother?

    Yell Fire, yo, yo, yo
Here we come here we come
Fire, yo, yo , yo, yo
    Revolution a comin'
    Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

    Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Everyone addicted to the same nicotine
Everyone addicted to the same gasoline
Everyone addicted to a technicolour screen
Everybody tryin' to get their hands on the same green
From the banks of the river to the banks of the greedy
All the riches taken back by needy
We come from the country and we come from the city
You play us on the record, you can play us on the CD
All the shit you've given us is fertilizer
The seeds that we planted you can never brutalize them
Tell the corporation they can never globalize it
Like Peter Tosh said Legalize it
Girls and boys hear the bass and treble
Rumble in the speakers and it make you wanna rebel
Throw your hands up, take it to another level
And you can never, ever, ever make a deal with the devil

    Yell Fire, yo, yo, yo
Here we come here we come
    Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
    Revolution a comin'
    Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
    Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

  • Decisions made by the people for their benefit. Is that too much to ask?

Out of fairness to both sides if this means war is necessary then it's time to re evaluate what is really important in American life...Canada incuded.

Honestly though...don't take what I have to say at face value either.

Contrary to popular belief I carry respect for those that oppose me which is why I press the envelope with them sometimes on order to hold things up to the light for my own satisfaction and conviction.

I want to be wrong, but I can't support killing. I just cant. There has to be another way.

Here's the direct link to SPEARGEAR. Also here's another song from their last album called Time To Go Home.

The Yell Fire album was written after a 2 week long visit to Baghdad and Israel and then another visit back a year later. He also filmed a documentary called I Know I'm Not Alone. Check it out, I'm one of the mods on the forum board.

I would love for it to happen, but honestly, the AT&T and Draft issues aren't new. My guess is that this will all be a non-issue in two weeks, and that shows the sad state of our Union. Here's wishing I'm wrong...

I liked that sign also, I'll have to use it at the next peace protest march here in DC slated for Sept 15th. Sometimes it feels weird that I'm still protest such prolonged events. I also like the "Granny for Peace Brigade...No Pre-emptive War" sign. the My favorite sign is the

    "Fighting Wars for Peace,
    Is like Fucking for Virginity"
    .

At the shows he emphazies that Peter Tosh reference even though he doesn't smoke anymore. Yes the bare foot wonder, 6ft 6 above sea level he known to his fans, "Spearits".

You must be a drummer, well if your tech suggestion means more up tempo from the drums, well I think he had when they first played it back in 6/29/04. However, in the recording process done in part in Kingston, Jamaica it was changed to to it's current format. Love the song but I've heard it live at least 50 times live now but a new album is due early 2008. Yell Fire was more reggae this next one will be more rock.

They'll be in Canada but out west Vancouver, Edmonton and some other places out there but they'll be here with another east coast swing in Sept/Oct after a trip to Australia.

Here's one for the revolution. From the album ZIETGEIST appropriately called "UNITED STATES" video taped at the Filmore in SF. This album is sure to be among the album of the year.

    Album cover...ZEITGEIST

    SMASHING PUMPKINS LYRICS

    "United States"

    Tired eyes
    Closed for days
    There's no regret
    'Cause there's no place
    I don't know
    What I believe
    But if I feel safe
    What do I need

    A home
    A home
    A home

    Revolution
    Revolution
    Revolution blues
    What will they do
    Revolution
    Revolution
    Revolution blues
What will they do to me
What will they do to me
What will they do to me
What will they do to me

    Dulcet tongues
    Whisper fast
    The future yearns
    Right now's the past
    Rouse me soon
    The end draws nigh
    Who's side are you on
    Your blood you cannot buy

    Revolution
    Revolution
    Revolution blues
    What will they do
    Revolution
    Revolution
    Revolution blues
What will they do to you

    Well I
    I feel alright
    So tonight
I got to ask you why
    Why deny it
    It's no surprise
    I've got to survive

    Freedom shines the light ahead
I'll lead the last charge to bed
    I said my last rights
I don't have to run scared no more

    Fight
    I wanna fight
    I wanna fight a revolution
    Tonight
    I wanna fight
    I wanna fight a revolution
    Tonight
    At the light
    At the light
Do you wanna watch me die

    Let me be something good
Let me prove something real like I should
Let me embrace every single living thing
Let me be every single moment I ever misunderstood

    Peace
    Earle

Only SHEEP think this way. And from my experience on the MT, we aren't sheep here. Let the sheep of America have their Britney Spears. Mainstream media is for sheep.
If real people like us get angry enough, then it will be time for a revolution. IT'S time to overrule our leaders!!!

Now we just need EVERYONE on our side and pull that wool from over the sheeps' eyes so they can finally see what's REAL and what's not!

  • Wait until Iran kicks into full swing....then sit back and wait for it.

There's a reason they keep talking about the draft.

It's to soften people up the idea. Everything for a reason.

Keep in mind they want to fire up the draft....and badly.

    Know your rights to revolution...

It has to be unanimous or it will never work.

And most importantly, if you succeed, what next?
