Linkin Park, STP and a third headliner to be announced shortly. Man I hope it's PJ. It's at Downsview park July 12th.

Edit* Through email Alan Cross of the Edge 102 said he approached PJ to play but that they " couldn't afford them"

A few days ago, I they said that the headliner has sold more albums then Foo Fighters and Tool. So it wont be those two bands. Hey wasnt PJ supposed to do a show last year in T.O? Seems like PJ are only doing festivals lately..so who knows...

You are right that stranger things have happened. I just don't get why you would announce your lineup now if you had a band as big as PJ possibly lined up to headline.

I'm just hoping. Maybe PJ can't commit yet.

I'm with you BB. It's silly that every festival announced someome's like "Oh do you think PJ will be there?" "Oh will PJ be added to Rothbury?" Ben Harper is playing in Boston on xx date..Ed is only a 5 hour flight away..do you think he will make an appearance?"

Just heard the announcement myself. Damn, I might have to try and make this just to see STP.

Wasnt edgefest being held at Molson Amp the last few years, now Downsview Park...how many tickets are they going to sell. I can't see them selling 50,000 tickets for STP and Linkin Park.

I looked it up on Wiki and Linkin Park's first album went Diamond which I believe is 10X platinum.

ALL of Tool's albums have sold around 12 million.

So they were talking about crappy ass Linkin Park.

STP have sold about 30mil total...and LP sold 18mil just on hybrid theory...so they could both be winners

Rock on the Range has so many more bands that are more well known than what they have at Edgefest. Linkin Park sucks. The only other bands that I have heard of on the Edgefest bill are Ashes Divide (Billy Howerdel's band who was in A Perfect Circle) and the Bravery who opened for Smashing Pumpkins and they are a great band.

the PJ Downsview concert was not a rumor, it was a concert that was, for all intense purposes, agreed to by the Band (Nicole, the band's publicist, was in Toronto for a meeting with Alan Cross of 102.1 the Edge to personally discuss promotion and support for the concert) and the venue; however, issues with the multi-level branches of local, provincial, and federal governments (since all have a stake in Downsview) led to the cancellation of plans,...

It's not good. We couldn't afford them!

Have you checked out Edge.ca? Or the Ongoing History Channel
    and my Music Geek Blog?

I should email him back and say if that would be their only Toronto date it would add 10 -15 thousand more people to the show. That might help pay for them:)

I wonder how much they are charging.

The two biggest festival here in Norway also tried last summer and failed because of money issues...

Don't know but if you get 50,000 people at $80 a head thats 4mil. You'd think you could afford a few expensive bands with that kind of cash.
