Subject: HOW ENRON WORKED THE PRESIDENT

(This is an interesting bit of information that you don't hear much about.)

A.. ENRON'S chairman did meet with the president and the vice president in the Oval Office.

B.. ENRON gave $420,000 to the president's party over three years.

C.. ENRON donated $100,000 to the president's inauguration festivities.

D.. The ENRON chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.

E.. The corporation had access to the administration at its highest level and even
enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for it.

F.. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import Bank subsidized Enron for more

than $600 million in just one transaction. Scandalous!!

G.. BUT...the president under whom all this happened WASN'T George W. Bush.

SURPRISE : IT WAS BILL CLINTON

add'l disclaimer- Bush could have had sex with the CEO of Enron for all I know but that isn't relevant to Clinton's connections which I don't recall seeing on here much but I haven't been around much lately either.

I say we impeach Clinton...he should be held accountable...

by the way, bush (his presidential campain) recieved 1.14 million from Enron and K Lay was part of the secret meetings to mold our current energy policy...however, none of this matters because it's all Clinton's fault...

Never said it was all Clinton's fault and what Bush does or did doesn't matter. I just thought I'd put something out that WASN'T Bush. Hence my disclaimer's. I'm not defending Bush nor do I even know his involvement with Enron but again, that doesn't make it any better for Clinton. I knew I'd get the "but Bush did this" responses.

Both parties are owned by corporations, but the only reason this was not discussed is that Clinton is not in office. We can't do much about him now all we can do is work with the present so we can change the future.

You should know the rules by now, Stace:

    Republicans are for sale.....

    Democrats are for rent.

That's why Democrats seem so waffly - they're always being driven around by different people. People who sometimes leave stains in the back seat, cocaine in the trunk, forget to fill the tank from time to time, etc....
