PBS Breaks Media Blackout of Pentagon Propaganda

While most TV news organizations have refused to report or even comment on the bombshell New York Times article exposing a secret Pentagon propaganda campaign to sell Iraq policy, PBS just aired an important segment on the controversy.

"For the record, we invited Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC to participate but they declined our offer or did not respond.
"John Stauber, coauthor of "Weapons of Mass Deception: The Uses of Propaganda in Bush's War on Iraq," contended that the Pentagon's "surrogate" program violated federal law against domestic propaganda and called for a congressional investigation. "This war could have never been sold if it were not for this sophisticated propaganda campaign," he said.

Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand
standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with
someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same

I made a post a few weeks back asking if anyone thinks political organizations possibly "plant" people in chat rooms and such to spread their message and I felt like I may be paranoid

Well, the paranoia was justified times 1000.

Funny how a lot of people were making fun of Sadaam's messenger at the start of the war; now turns out that we have a group of them ourselves.

PBS in consistenlty excellent. I've been a supporter for many years, as were my parents. I particularly like the Frontline series (not to mention Sesame Street :) ).

I can just imagine the intelligent comebacks from the Bushies and their news slaves: that PBS, like NPR, is run by a bunch of Liberal kooks with an agenda of their own. Yeah, that agenda being TRUTH.

Sounds like it's time to tighten PBS's budget....;)
