i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with

    I'm against war completely
    I love peace...
    but at the same time
I know what it feels like to be terrorized
    in my f'n free country..
so therefore if people are going to start
terrorism then I understand that everyone has the right to defend themselves and their loved ones.

unfortuneately, war has to break out and innocent lives get taken...

9/11 is obviously what he's talking about. Regardless. Invading Iraq was stupid and is not helping anything. It's pretty clear this was a desire before 9/11 and the rest of the discussion is essentially his trying to find good reasons for it. I personally am not have not the foresight to determine whether or not this will stop any kind of terrorism in the future, but I tend to doubt it and it seems to me a waste of people and resources that could have been avoided using diplomatic pressure. I hate the way the situation was handled, but that's all I can really say.

The obvious reason to be there is economic, I mean why the hell even consider invading otherwise? Saddam was an awful guy but the destablization of that country and the subsequent costs of reconstruction in people and resources are not at all worth invasion.

You don't think he meant 9/11 ? (Bush that is)

He's acknowledged that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. The 'our soil' line clearly meant 9/11, no?

I don't mean this disrespectfully El Kabong, but are you really that shocked that Bush continues to exhibit signs of mental retardation?

  • At the end....

Bush: "People spend a lot of time analyzing decisions, and not only that, but the decision maker....and I understand that. But a president must..must never (stutters) let that get him off track"

Interviewer: "Even if you're frustrated that were getting something wrong?"

Bush: "you have to do what you think is..... If were doing something wrong we change it"

Interviewer: "How have you been read wrong?"

Bush: "er...I don't know about read wrong...I...I frankly don't pay that much attention to it....I don't want to hurt people's feelings about it you know.."

Interviewer: "still not watching television huh?

Bush: "Well I watched a good baseball game..."

    ok...

Things that were noteworthy were how his voice pitch changed up considerably (indicates nervous) when asked about his father sharing ideas, and how he became somewhat flabbergasted when pressed on reading the books he said he read (indicates lying).

it is not mental retardation. it is propaganda. the whole bumpkin thing has continued to work for years now. basic propaganda technique is to repeat your talking point over and over, eventually people believe it. i had a friend of mine recently tell me it is better to fight them over there? after i chalenged him on his Bush vote in 2004 :D how the hell can an educated man say something so absurd and obviously false, morphing 9/11 and iraq 6 years later? becuase the standard techniques worked on him. the media is to blame as well basicly taking white house propaganda points off of the fax macnine and repeating them as fact to a nationla audience.

Bush is the result of MKULTRA!

and add to this, many people find it challenging to question authority..they've been programmed to listen to their elders, police officers, teachers....so when the president talks they don't question. No I still feel Bush is an idiot....just listen to him talk....think he was taken as well..and maybe now realizes it....its the true ruler of the US Cheney and his henchmen that understand how easy it is to herd the sheep..and as you mentioned they've done it successfully......with the media's help..no doubt. Many folks though are finally pulling their heads out of the sand...and maybe in the future they'll use thier noggin......maybe....just maybe. Bush and Company has been the worst thing thats ever happened to this great country....and will go down in history as such.

I wholeheartedly agree with every point made here, except Bush being taken himself. While i think there is little doubt that Cheney is pulling the strings, Bush is not without his own visions for America, most of them retarded.
