Excellent point. A propaganda war is something no one wins.

I would hope that by now people have learned fighting fire with fire doesn't work. You don't fight terrorism with terrorism, propagadana with propaganda, etc. If someone rapes and kills my sister, it's not ok for me to fight back by raping and killing HIS sister.

I especially love the part about where he refers to the democrats as the "opposition party" considering almost all of them support the war and support the use of propaganda.

i don't htink he meant the term 'opposition party' as in the war...i think he meant it as we have only 2 parties here, so why isn't the other party doing anything?

you already answered it, they are just as dirty and care just as little

but i'm curuious as to how this video is propaganda?

Propaganda is defined as "information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc." I think anyone can see that this film is obviously aimed at harming the Bush administration's credibility, and the credibility of the Iraq invasion.

There's a difference between presenting people with information, and presenting them with information that's intertwined with clips of Bush saying something stupid, and some guy commenting on his interpretation of that information.

but in reality it wasn't just clips of 'bush saying something stupid', it was clips of this administration saying they didn't think the war would last 6 weeks, we would be greeted as liberators, it would pay for itself...

Well I think it was stupid to say we would be "greeted as liberators" and the war would pay for itself, but that's all up for interpretation. The point is, the film intertwines information with clips that make the war and Bush look bad. Showing an explosion blowing away a U.S. soldier has nothing to do with letting people think for themselves, and everything to do with trying to make them agree with the filmmaker's views. Showing those clips isn't necessary to present people with important information. However, they are necessary if you want the people to look at the information and interpret it in a way that you want them to.

Anti-war propaganda shows soldiers and civilians being blown apart. Pro-military propaganda shows soldiers travelling the world and getting an education and having a fun time. Anti-Bush propaganda shows him saying rediculous things. Pro-war propaganda shows Muslim extremist rallies and our flag being burned. This is all propaganda.
