    missed. point. yep!

i wasn't asking for anyone to admit my opinion was the only valid one, but i see you have no problem w/ that from flywallyfly, just me. i'm here to debate, sorry some don't like that, maybe the aet would be more their speed?

now there's an idea kabong. because like it or not, that's how it feels around here sometimes.

    such as....??

From my experience in this forum, some people are as hysterical against obama as they claim his supporters are hysterical for him.

The 'Hillary invokes RFK assassination' thread is a classic example. If that was obama you would have been all over it.

and what, join the rest of the obama supporters in patting themselves on the back that obama's a little bit better than hillary clinton?? does anyone here even support her? what's the point of that?

ok, if it means so much to some ppl maybe later i'll reply to the thread and say 'yeah, hillary sucks, like we all agree!!!!'
    Pj_Gurl wrote:
that should read criticizing OBAMA and his policies kabong. because i rarely see you do it to the other candidates.

correct me if i'm wrong. i'm sure you will.

i say '3 corporate candidates' all the time. what's the need to debate where there is no arguement?????

i got an idea; let's just start threads about how bush and cheney suck, so we can all just agree w/ each other.

i posted this on the 2nd page but i'll post it again for you

I don't need hillary to fuck up to think obama is more than a little bit better than her.

That is NOT what i am saying. It's not even CLOSE. But go ahead and pretend it is. I'm saying is that the only candidate you openly criticize is Obama. I made that VERY clear in my post so stop trying to twist my words.

that is not true. i've criticized hillary and mccain.

    let me ask again:
who am i here to argue w/ over hillary and mccain being bad choices? nobody here thinks they are a good choice. i don't like wasting my time stating the obvious, if you like to then have at it

gee, imagine i criticize the person who will get the nomination, whoda thunk it??? you all keep posting about how she has no chance at getting the nomination and needs to drop out and give in yet i'm supposed to start threads wasting my time posting about her?? that in my eyes has the same amount of pointlessness as posting a bush/cheney sucks!!! thread. give me something where we can have actual discourse

  • Quick! Someone PM me about how mean and aggressive the Obama supporters are and how they all gang up in every Obama thread so I can feel vindicated!

Nah, no need...I'm doing pretty well on my reasoning alone. Let's try to address that.

Wrong kabong. I have not made one post stating that Clinton should drop out, called her names, nor have i been openly critical of her unless warranted by her stupidity. The same as i would if it was McCain or Nader.

This is my opinion of Nader, just in case you missed it.

    http://forums.pearljam.com/showpost.php?p=5474092&postcount=24

so i guess we'll have to agree to disagree. you know, i'm not so good at debating like most of you gurus in here but i speak from my heart, and i think the treatment of some of the obama supporters here is unfair. that's how i see it and i'm sorry if you disagree.

i wasn't being mean and agressive, and i've never sent a PM to anyone here about anything to do with this forum. I wasn't ganging up with anyone.

i hope you all feel really clever. i just tried to say how i was feeling.

I wasn't referring to you. I will say I think you're pretty direct and open about how you feel, actually.

I was just being a smart ass about another post....c'mon, let me be a smart ass every now and again. :p

so this article is total shit. i thin kit would have been much better to actually go into more detail about the red line agreement (which included much more then iraq by the way, to be acurate) instaed of somehow trying to include obama into that? i mwan that is just reaching for starws isnt it? lets be honest here...

Its a good article, though rehashed. I read an expanded version of the article (without mention of Obama) in 2006 when it was published as a chapter in Palast's excellent book "Armed Madhouse" -the mysterious yellow book that kid in florida was tazed over. What the article is discussing is bigger than Obama and it should incite people to take a closer look at how and why we got to this point in Iraq. The article on Palast's website includes an informative timeline:

I like timelines. They help get beyond the bickering over the day to day news and see the bigger picture.

How anyone can say the oil companies' profits are undeserved or excessive is beyond me. Yes they made record profits the last two years. But what no one understands is that their expenses are ENORMOUS. In fact the oil industry is one of the least profitable industries there are. The percentage of profit to revenue of most major energy companies is 3-5%. What is Google's percentage? 25%.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

ha, exactly. we only made several billions...

glenn beck (on cnn) has been having oil execs and other oil ppl on lately talking about how we need to drill in ANWR and all this other shit, how we need to tap into our supply of coal ('we're the saudia arabia of coal')...one guy, i think he was the head of BP tried to rationalize it that they invest part of their profit into getting more oil...in other words making more profit. it's like going to the grocery store and them acting like it's some unheard of concept that they will use some of your money to buy more of what you just bought

    ...............

still kinda curious what this unfair treatment of obama supporters is?

I get it. A windfall tax = war profiteering EXCEPT when you hear Nader has the same idea. BUT THEN it is different because he will use it for solar research in his mythical presidency. Gotcha.

Just admit it - this article is a bogus attempt to connect Obama to war profiteering and you know it. HUGE REACH. Calling me a closeted Obama supporter and justifying Nader's SAME approach to the oil companies as Obama cannot hide that you posted a crappy opinion piece.
