Wow. Someone not only talking about the issues, but SOLUTIONS to the issues. Interesting. The funny thing is that, unless his rank choice system of voting is implemented, the vote will still be affected, but not won, by candidates such as Nader and himself and it's unlikely that either of the major two parties would show support to get this system implemented. It's a shame.Just me0

A co-worker described that time as so close and so exciting that even though he didn't win it was still inspiring.
The rank choice system seems like a no brainer to me. Makes me wonder what the Dems are so worried about that they won't back it.
Wouldn't it be easier and way less hostile than trying to knock a third party off of the ballot completely?

Nope, you're not the only one. And I don't even care about the hair or the suits...someone with looks like his, who also is as intelligent and driven like he is, out there fighting the status quo, not afraid to go against the odds and stand up for what's right, and he's also a bit of a freak....quite the package.
I really home he comes out to NC.

i was just completely underwhelmed... honestly
the best part was a 3rd party candidiate saying election reform must make sure winners have a majority of the vote... then he says the city of london, ireland, and some provinces in australis have devised a way to ensure that even with more then 2 candidates and he cant understand why america hasnt adopted it? all because one city and a few provinces use a way a country of 300,000,000 should use it?
he saud SPHC... thats all... no ideas or explantions how to transition to that and pay for it... ighuess all you have to do nowadays is say you "support" universal single payer health care and "progressives" drool all over you... no need to explain how you would do it, just say you support it
then came iraq... not laying out any ideas or plans how to end it... just saying he "disagreed" with the proposed plans of mccain. for perpetual war, wow really going out o a limb with that one... and then of course, he had to go after obama, these nader folks have a real hard on for obama, and twist some random interview and tried to paint obama as a war monger that is simply lying about his agend with iraq and troop withdrawl... of course no mention of clinton at all, since the whole nader game plan is attack the most popular candidiate to attract attention to himself... and again, no substance..
in a nutshell he told me he lost a mayors race for san fran... supports election reform so that the winner must secire a 51% majority (even though he is a 3rd party candidate), prefers SPHC, and wants to end the oraq war but mention no way to do any of the above
weak. very weak.0 -

What I heard is something that supports the thread title. I'll have to paraphrase as much as possible, 'cause I can't replay it on the computer I am currently using. However, as I recall it, Matt Gonzalez was polling at a support rate of about 10% before the debates. After his appearance in the debates he went on to gain 47% of the VOTES.
That is pretty substantial, especially considering he is a 3rd party candidate.
Dems, Republicans and the corporately owned Commission on Presidential Debates have no intention of allowing viable 3rd party candidates into the debates for that very reason. :cool:Walking can be a real trip

Can anybody help me out??? Sure, I think Matt Gonzalez is dreamy, but I REALLY want to see NADER in person.Walking can be a real trip

i know, he should've just started yelling 'yes we can!!!!' that's all some need to hear
are you saying you are against instant run-off voting???
he may have not given specifics as to how the sphc plan would work but you know links w/ the detailed information, right down to how much in taxes you would pay, have been posted more than a few times.
let's have him in a debate w/ obama and others and we can compare, ok? or do you know he would destroy obama and force him to answer the questions he was actually asked?standin above the crowd
