Limbaugh detained at Palm Beach airport

Rush Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement examined the 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage after his private plane landed at the airport around 2 p.m. from the Dominican Republic, said Paul Miller, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

ICE officials found a prescription bottle labeled as Viagra, a drug that treats erectile dysfunction, in his luggage, Miller said.

"The problem was that on the bottle itself was not his name, but the name of two Florida doctors," Miller said.

Limbaugh reached a deal last month with prosecutors who had accused the conservative talk-show host of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions.

The matter Monday was referred to the sheriff's office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh.

"He said he had the Viagra in his possession for his use and that he did obtain it from his doctors," Miller said.

Investigators confiscated the drugs, and Limbaugh was released around 5:30 p.m. without being charged.

The sheriff's office plans to file a report with the state attorney's office.

"We believe there may be a second-degree misdemeanor violation, which is possession of certain drugs without a prescription, because the bottle does not have his name on it," Miller said.

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was "labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement.

Under Limbaugh's deal with prosecutors, the charge, commonly referred to as "doctor shopping," would be dismissed after 18 months if he continues to submit to random drug tests and treatment for his acknowledged addiction to painkillers.

I wonder if he claimed to be a Member of Congress, a Kennedy, and tried to employ a jedi mind-trick to get out of his situation. "you don't need to see my prescription. I'm not the pundit you're looking for" That's what I would have done in his place.

anyhoo, perhaps he was high on oxy again and did not realize he had them in his bags...

Detaining a big fat radio host and frisking him for limp pecker medication makes about as much sense as preventing trade with Cuba.

Thanks US Government, proving once again, you're way to involved with stuff that really dosen't fucking matter.

Thanks for keeping me safe border control. Man it would be horrible for big fat radio blowhards to bring in drugs from the dominican republic to have 4 hour erections.

Why the Fuck do we care what people take anyway?

I don't think many people do. But because it's Rush and like that other guy said, Karma is really funny sometimes.

Oh yeah I'm not denying the comedy, it's really funny especially given his history he would be stopped with any drug much less one for impotence. I'm more annoyed with customs/"border control" in general.

IE: how is a cigar that happens to be from cuba threatening to the US?

Or if I bring a crate of lipitor home for my dad because it's cheaper why is that a problem?

It's like not being able to buy beer on Sunday.....at the supermarket oh but I can in a restaurant.

He tried to joke it off on his radio show today by saying that he got the pills at the Clinton Presidential Library and that they told him they were blue M&M's. I guess NoBloodRush Limpaugh thinks it is funny as well.

When you come up with EVIDENCE of lies, get back to me.

You may scoff at the source, but you know as well as I do, if there was REAL evidence, al-Dean et, al. (al-Durbin, al-Feingold, al-Kennedy) would actually make some headway into impeachment proceedings.

ahhhh, so bush mispoke and didn't mean an iaea report, he meant a report that was put out 2 days after he made the claim, riiiiiight ;)

Bush"... a report came out ..." that implies past tense, your article states the report was issued on Monday AFTER he made the statement that Saturday

wow, that was clever w/ the al-'s in front of the dems names! too bad the dems are a worthless party who have no backbone

don't you people make a life (not a living) out of calling W a bumbling fool who has trouble speaking his own name? why is it so hard to believe he made a mistake in citing a bureaucratic agency?

But at least we agree that the Dems have no backbone!

b/c i don't believe a thing any of them have to say.

    also-

Bush: "a report came out of the Atomic -the IAEA- that they were 6 months away from developing a weapon. I don’t know what more evidence we need.”

your article: "It was in fact the International Institute for Strategic Studies [IISS] that issued the report concluding that Iraq could develop nuclear weapons in as few as six months...the IISS had finished a report, which was released the Monday after Bush's Saturday statement, which said Iraq could "assemble nuclear weapons within months if fissile material from foreign sources were obtained."

first we have the issue of past tense vs future tense. a report came out...released 2 days AFTER the claim

then there's the issue of saying they 'WERE 6 months away' from developing a weapons vs 'IF material from foreign sources were obtained' he's saying they ARE, the actual futuristic report says it's POSSIBLE. do you really not see the difference in those 2 statements? easpecially at that time after 9/11 and them talking about mushroom clouds, then saying 'hey, they ARE 6 months away from having a nuke what more evidence do we need?', mobile weapons labs that they KNOW where they are, the bullet-proof evidence linking them to al-qaeda and 9/11, the faulty niger intel...drilling for fear
