New Immigration Bill

I'm surprised that there isn't already a thread about this...

what are everyone's thoughts? I haven't heard enough about it to form a solid opinion, this is what I understand so far:

-Pay 5,000 fine and go back to your native country for years

-A tier system to decide who can stay (I'd imagine that if someone has been in trouble with the law, they won't be staying.)

-a 400 hundred mile-long razor fence

Does anyone know more details?

What is going to happen to those that don't follow the new rules? Are we going to see illegals rounded up and shipped back by the thousands?

This is horrible. I couldn't understand the pay up or go back for ??? years?

It all boils down to how much money can be paid to make legitimate; just another way to legitimize gov't stealing and asset forfeiture..

Hope this thread develops; someitmes immigration issues hurt so badly, I cannot read all the rhetoric.

I think it's pay 5.000, leave then re enter and at the boarder they put a barcode on a part of your body. or was it insert a microchip gps in your arm?

Can't remember which one. haha j/k (I hope)

Thank god it's only a bill.. I see no work-out for parental rights or child rights. Does not a child have a right to have both parents in home?

This is a hidden issue that has to be considered. Intricities will keep this debate going on for decades while an endless sweep attitude of arrest em all and deal it out in court.

I just see the $5000 part turning it into a slave trade... the random illegal worker that just wants to make some money to support his/her family doesn't have $5000 laying around... But some "sponsors" will pay it for them and force them to work it off before they are free to go elsewhere.

I'm against any bill or law that restricts people from other countries from coming here, living or working wherever they please.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

I'm not following you.. of course it's not a right to have both parents in home. If it's a child's right, then the parents HAVE to be in the home regardless of marital status and everyone knows that does not happen.

Sorry, I don't agree with this bill or I should say what I have heard or read about so far. They are rewarding them for commiting a federal crime. Oh and if I hear it will bring them out of the Shadows one more time I will hurl. They are not in the shadows, I can see some walking down my street right now.
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

wow! a nik for ol time's sake....well, chopitdown, i am a grandma to one of those children who have a parent in this immigration mess.

there are many children born here in u.s who have parent that could be undocumented in many sub-cultures; hell, latinos aren't the only people being subjected to this affair..

i have been through the immigration ropes with my own family, and i think there are too many details that aren't being considered about this b*s* bill...

for instance, they are saying that any non doucmented person cannot come back into the countyr if they committed a crime...well what about the one's who's only crime was to mother a child with 1/2 us. citizen...

and then there's the folks who have been here for decades. in my humbled opinion it's not too unreasonable to project that there could be folks living in u.s that are in their 70's and 80's who are non documented as well..wht abouit that little detail....?

well, like i told jane, i am off to a family reunion...and as i said in earlier post, this topic is so sensitivie to me, but i am willing now to come out and at least listen...

may be we can atleast make a meeting of the minds......peace now..and have a great day...

btw do you ever know what happen to psychos? alias gutted fish???? is that person still around ? and what about providence hunter, whatever happened to him? did he ever come back to the pearls in the jam???? last i heard p/h was heading to the army with his brother...
