Bring it on cowards, the majority of America will be afraid no more, so use all your scare tactics, your immoral, and unethical bullcrap, cause Barak Husein Obama will be the next President of the United States.

We shalln't be voting for an empty shell (McCain) and a simpletin (Palin). Intelligence, competence, and hope will win the day.

comments welcome, the good and the bad.

ignorance will be overcome in November.

I wish I could share you optimism, and I hope you're right.

    But I seriously doubt it.

edit: I think Obama won't bring the change Americans and the world want. I think he'll just be more of the same.

I'm with you Beachdweller. Calm and good will prevail. Many years ago I remember thinking the pendulum would swing back one day, and here it is.

To me, one of the saddest things is that even after almost 8 years of gross incompetence, when nearly every aspect of American life is worse than it was before W took office, when the future looks bleaker than it rarely has in national history, when change and new outlook and new ideas are so obviously what we need, it seems like the polls ought to be about 75% to 25% for Obama.

It sometimes seems like people actually prize incompetence in their leadership, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.

Strongly disagree, the past 8 years have been about hate, divisiveness, fear mongering, intolerance & courting the dumb and rich. That's not Obama.

Will he bring wholesale change to American politics?? ..well of course not...you can't change the Human animal.

Will he solve all our economic problems...no? but he's the best thing we've had in a loooong time.

Humans like to feel comfortable...and okay with their make believe realities..and the smart Republican's know this and exploit this weakness.

I completely understand this point of view. It's scary to think no change will happen. Also, for many, he'll never be able to institute enough change. We shall see.

I think Bush has messed things up so bad, a lot of change will come, but I also think some important issues will be overlooked because if it. Some fights won't be fought...

I hope Obama will be the leader we need, and never make a decision or not, based on whether he'll be re-elected. I know, I'm crazy to think that approach is possible.

    Me too.

Remember when Democrats finally(!) took control of the House and the Senate? Wasn't that supposed to be a really, REALLY great thing? How has anything changed for the better?

If Obama doesn't 'fix' anything or if things get worse, he can always fall back on the "it was broken when I got here" excuse.

Amazing time in history, for sure.
  • Obama voted for the bailout, he wants to hunt terrorism to all corners of the earth and wants to increase troops in Afghanistan. Two massive policies that will completely trump every other issue...just wait and see...how much he "saves" America.

To boot many of his (big) policies sound just like McCain.

It's like voting for a hockey team, the both still play hockey...some are enamored by jerseys apparently, to the point they think one side is playing another sport altogether. Sad.

True partisanship if I've ever seen it.

I remember when Clinton was President and a lot of people thought he sucked (not only cause of the BJ issue either). They thought he had a terrible foreign policy and couldn't balance the budget, and the whole Kosovo mess. But after he left office and we were graced with the village idiot (Bush), Clinton didn't seem so bad, did he. I mean, he left us with a $300 million surplus. Point being, I think a president might not be appreciated until he has left office, so give Obama a chance.

PS Bush will NEVER EVER be considered a good president.Maybe only by hard core Republicans.
