Why Bush has gotten away with what he has...

I think the one main reason that President Bush hasn't been held accountable for his poor decision making, lack of leadership, and possible criminal acts is that most Americans aren't effected by any of it.

If the stock market busted, maybe drop below 10k or lower, then the upper middle class and elite class would have a problem with him. If the economy went bad and effected the middle and lower middle class, they would have a problem with him.

It seems these days, we are so comfortable in our lives, at least the middle majority, that they won't stand up to be heard unless they are specifically effected. Hurt the pocket book, and finally, maybe masses of Americans will actually force their representatives to take action on their behalf.

Not sure anything else well get the majority of America off their asses.

thoughts?

most christians are too stupid/afraid to question the religious asshole they put in office.

*he's got a plan* is their mentality
Let's not be negative now. Thumper has spoken

I have to commend Bush on how well he has feared in his presidency so far. They have created brilliantly an or ah of fear mongering across this land. Anyone of significance who rises up is squashed with smear tactics till the problem subsides.

We've formed this mentality where if it isn't affecting me directly, I'll just going on minding my own business as if that's right and best thing to do. From the very start this administration made it clear we are not to be questioned in this War on Terror and so far many have stayed clear and robotic-ally continued in our complacency. Well done America, when will you wake up?

Has anyone seen this of late Russian-Chinese Alliance and the beat goes on.

They make it so extreme and polarized (i.e. with us or against/terrorist) that people just shut down in the head. They think for a sec and pull u-turns all the time. They shut it out of their minds and look no further. Not only that it somehow spawns all these "good citizen agents" that love to hop on their bandwagon and strike down any potential uprising.

The current system can do no wrong in their eyes. All they see is glitter and gold, and pity those that dare cross their path....the Terrorist....the commie...

They can't fathom that people are murdered all the time for money and power.

    ...oh well for them...

I wonder how many calls the "rat out your terrorist neighbor" hotlines get per day in the US?

should leave the sarcasm for non-moving train posts, but sometimes...

I'd venture to say sarcasm has a place here. Issues this extreme kinda require a bit of lightheartedness at times to keep from turning into a grim and bitter individual. Unfortunately some take that brief pause for some apathy to the extreme these days and thus the "sheeple" materialize.

I somewhat agree with you, but a lot of people in New Orleans were affected by his poor decision making and lack of response/ care.

I think the main reason he is not held accountable is because he is way too powerful for anyone to even fathom doing something about it. I mean his father was president... hell his grandfather Prescott helped finance Hitler and the Nazis!!! Throw Cheney and the rich Saudis into the equation and it's a powerful evil that can't be stopped... not by the masses, and especially not by some average joe citizen.

And don't even get me started on the Skull and Bones society!! hahaaah
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

The sheepled masses won't give a damn, or raise an eyebrow, until they get hit hard in the pocket book.

I don't think even a hit to the pocket book, would shake the masses of sheep. They are so set in their t.v. led world that nothing, nothing, would make these passive people forced to act. PERHAPS, if you take away all their material luxuries, that may have an affect.
