"God's Warriors"

Anyone seen either of the first two? Really good so far. Not comparing the warriors of the three major religions to each other, just showing each for what they are. Christianne Ammonpour always seems to keep her credibility when tackling tough issues in the middle east. With all the emphasis in news on islamic extremists, I think it's important to have a better understanding about all three major religion's extreme views, which doesn't necessarily lead to violence, but it's far more complicated than people blowing themselves up.

more about the three part documentary here:

she answered questions about the documentaries here:

I have been watching and I have to say honestly great reporting from Amanpour again. Her integrity on the issues is why I like to watch these stories. She doesn't slant facts but just reports the story. Can't wait to see the last part tonight.
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

too bad U S politicians can't give it to us straight like she does. Let us deal with how complicated, how ugly some of our biggest problems are, and most of all let us judge their outlook and plans to deal with them.

I'm expecting to gain at least one insite by the end of tonights 3rd part, that all three major religions each has a view that will never allow for peace in the holy land between them.

it's pretty sad that a place is more important than the faith itself.

    it would seem.

i don't think that is so much the case, in reality.

  • So CNN is actually making a stab at legitimate news now?

When did this happen? Are they multi-owned or under new ownership or something?

    Who owns who:
    http://la.indymedia.org/news/2003/04/47530.php

    TIME-WARNER TBS - AOL (donated 1.6 million to GW's 2000 campaign)
America Online (AOL) acquired Time Warner–the largest merger in corporate history.
    Television Holdings:
    * CNN, etc..

I saw the entire series and while aspects frustrated me (as to what motivates these "radicals"), I enjoyed the show overall. While I (and the rest of us here) know a lot about the extreme aspects of all three religions, it is nice to know that such a powerful journalist is trying to eliminate religious ignorance by educating those who may never go out of their way to learn more about radical Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Don't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.

I enjoyed the series, though it's largely a repeat of the same material covered by a gazillion underground documentaries on the subject.

The dome of the rock will be destroyed by fundamentalist zionists and the middle-east will get it's armageddon with the U.S. backed Israel nuking the shit out of the arab world, but will in-turn be destroyed by their own nuclear fallout.

Thankfully, I'll be chilling in the north pole, where it should be nice and warm by then.
