McCain's Spending Freeze - What does it Really Do

1. A spending freeze just freeze the federal government at their 'current' levels. Which means no pay raises, promotions and a hiring freeze.
2. No increase in credit lending, including the SBA, Small Business Administration, as a 'real' Joe the plumber may not have gotten the loan to start up a business even if he was legitimate.
3. Under a spending freeze, the government would cutback in services, again who is hurt, Small Business contractors.
4. Under a spending freeze Small Businesses would not be able to hire new workers.
5. Under a spending freeze Small Businesses would not be able to provide workers with health benefits under McCain's tax proposal to tax such benefits. Because both the employer and the individual contribute to the health program, so both would be taxed. The employer would face a greater tax because they put a little more into the program than the employee.
6, A spending freeze would force States to look at furloughing employees.
7. A spending freeze would freeze unemployment benefits leaving many to turn to the welfare system to make ends meet.
8. A spending freeze would still enable corporations like Walmart to pass their health benefit payments onto the taxpayers.
9. A spending freeze places a burden on the States to make up the deficit of lost federal resources which result in a cut back in services, higher State taxes, higher unemployment, more foreclosures, a higher daily cost of living, higher fees charged at all levels credit and services received.
10. A spending freeze doesn't negate your obligation to file taxes at the end of year.
11. A spending freeze doesn't negate your obligation to pay mortgages and property taxes.
12. A spending freeze doesn't negate your obligation to take of yourself and your family.
A spending freeze doesn't negate our obligation to repay the growing national debt.
All this while wages are stagnated.
Honestly, not one politician, not Bush, not Paulson, not the Democrats in Congress, nor the Republicans in Congress; not Obama and not McCain have stated specifically what benefits the American people got from this Bailout or will get from this Bailout. Right now all the American people are getting is hard way to go.

SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

It sounds nice, and responsible, and perhaps what people would like to hear.
But, he doesn't mean it ... becuase he highlighted about 3 or 4 exceptions during the debate alone ... there is probably more that he hasn't highlighted.
McCain gets a fail on this one.
