Far be it from me to try to steer the thread outside of useless opinion...

    or away from its topic.

I'll leave that one up to you.

Enlighten us all with your vast knowledge of the MIC and why you disagree with Senator Obama.

    Obama on Iraqi blowback:
"t will take more than force to defeat this threat. It will take wisdom and patience to restore America's credibility in the Muslim world and reduce both passive and active support for extremists. We need to partner with the vast majority of Muslims in their struggle against those who would distort their religion, create oppressive theocracies, and kill innocents. We must demonstrate through action, not mere words, that America is not at war with Islam, and that we will stand with those Muslims who seek a better future."'

    What a warmonger...

i'm thinking with Edwards out, even without an Obama endorsement, most of his supporters will turn to Obama anyway. i might be wrong. hillary and obama will undoubtedly split his supporters, but i don't think it will be an even split, and i think Obama ends up on the winning end of that battle.

I could see the split between Edwards voters going 60/40 for Obama. Someone posted earlier that he will hold off on supporting anyone until Super Tuesday. I don't think he will be a VP candidate at all. I think he is in line for a Attorney General.

"What a warmonger." wel it certainly doesn't read like a peace activist approach that's for sure....

He'll be played, unless his foreign policy becomes a little more black and white. You can't play along in the system and expect to be outside of it at the same time.

Obama is going to get a wakeup call when he realizes this.

He's already guaranteeing troops in Iraq until at least 2013 so that would very easily be 2015, it's never less or ahead of schedule with this type of situation.

Pulling the Troops out Immediately commits the "sins of the Father" (See Bush 1 after Desert Storm) and is akin to a death sentance and instant bloody civil war in the region. Obama is certainly not going to have a similar policy GWB had in his foreign policy it's far more diplomatic the way he seems to be structuring it. He seems more eager to negociate. "America is not at War with ISLAM and we will stand with those Muslims that seek a better future" is a far more telling comment from Mr. Obama. Currently they are meeting opposition because Bush has made it easy to see the West as an invading enemy. It looks more to me like Obama wants to show the non Theocratic Muslims that he won't totally pull out and leave them shafted and at the mercy of the various terrorist groups. There is no current way the Iraqui government or police can defend themselves and the US caused this whole mess. The next president has to clean it up not just pretend it dosen't exist like Somalia or Rwanda or Sudan. They have currently very good reasons not to trust the US in this situation. George HW Bush already allowed thousands to be tortured and murdered after he left Saddam in power post Desert Storm.

I think the more likely scenario is if Obama is elected is that he starts working to bring the Troops home with a gradual pullout and more working in with UN peacekeeping forces probably leaving US troops under UN control.

anyone ever notice that roland and drifting post in the same style- kinda like stream of consciousness or something. each post starts with one wiseass line, then it's followed by space, then one or two more snarky remarks, then space, then some huge paultard paragraph, then another, final condescending remark against anyone who doesn't agree with them and/or isn't a paulsterbater.

has anyone ever seen these two in the same room? hmmm.

You don't digest facts or read very well apparently.

I never said he was a zionst or warmonger WTF? coffee? I said he has aligned himself with people who are. Big difference.

If he supports Israel's current administration 100% then he can't turn around and wave the peace flag without looking like a hypocrite.

Regardless, he's going to fight terrorism with military force, so he's not exactly a peace activist now is he. What is terrorism now again? who are the terrorists?

See it for what it is and stop YOUR bullshit about me already.

I like how you think you are inside Obama's head and know what he means.

Also, he has not once guaranteed troops until 2013 or 2015. I agree with him 100% in that we need to be as careful getting out as we were careless going in. You can't just pull the bottom row of blocks out of Jenga and not expect the thing to fall. I would really like to not have to send troops back there in 10 years because genocide has broken out and we have a situation in Iraq like we do in Kenya or Sudan.

Actually it wasn't guarantee, it was what he envisions at the very least until 2013.

I hope he has some serious balls because he's walking a tightrope with his bedfellows.

I understand your concerns with his "bedfellows". I'm curious as to what you think about the idea of the "careful getting out as we were careless getting in" line?

Does that make sense to you? I feel like we owe it to the civilians and soldiers who have died in Iraq not to leave it in a cluster fuck which could lead to serious trouble down the road. We need to find a line where our combat troops could come home and still try to keep the country from boiling over w/o being Team America World Police.

It will have to be phased out. Every Iraqi appointee Bush has assigned over there or will have to be replaced from top to bottom.

I hope the pockets are deep, it's going to cost a ton...

Rudy and Edwards in one day?

As David Lee Roth would say in "Unchained"..."woooooooo weeeeeeeee"

I wonder who he will throw his supporters to. If it's not Obama, then that is fucking weak.

His supporters are white dudes and swooning women ... they're going for Hillary no matter what he tells them to do.

Ok how is Obama going to fix foreign policy by supporting the MIC route?

    By being an unapologetic zionist.
what has he said about that? your answer pls?

    "Zionism kicks ass."
better yet... do you even understand what blowback is and why it happens?

Blowback is what happened to Bill after Monica was done. She blew him, then wanted a blow back. Why did it happen? Because she's a bitch that way, that's why.

    Any more questions?
