I'm not too sure if you guys have heard anything about the new film Michael Moore is working on (I just found out myself) but it's apparently a documentary on our healthcare system.
A colleague of mine was recently at ASCO. For those unaware it's the "American Society of Clinical Oncology". Every year they have a big conference where those in cancer research come together and discuss new ideas, research, etc.
Apparently ASCO allowed Moore to attend and she saw him there.
Will be interesting to see what he's got to say/"report".

it may be interesting. I don't put too much stock into a 2 hour movie about something as complicated as health care; it is impossible for it to be thorough and accurate, but i'll admit that with my prejudice toward moore I don't think he's trying for fair and accurate...i hope i'm wrong though. I hope he uses it to expose the true problems (rather than the trivial or the occassional anomoly) of our health care system and offer up solutions from different experts.
You know he's making this with an anti-corporate anti-pharma. mentality.
I think it'll be interesting because I happen to be more "liberal thinking" but I also work in the healthcare field...specifically cancer research and I deal with big pharma on a day to day basis.
I'm sure there's ample ammunition for moore to use to screw the corps / pharmaceutical industry in a 2 hour movie. I also have a vested interest b/c i'm in the health care field as well so it'll be interesting to see who he attacks and how.
