Someone had to do it, so we did. I only wish more of the county and state legislatures, town and village boards, city councils etc., in this country did this.

Ulster lawmakers call for impeachment, on an almost straight party line vote
Kingston – If there was perhaps one surprise, it was that not all Ulster County Legislature Democrats supported a memorializing resolution calling on congress to create a committee to investigate possible impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
The vote came after several citizens spoke, saying mostly the same thing that has been said by Bush administration critics time and time again.
This time, several legislators had their say, among them, one of the measure’s key supporters, Brian Shapiro.
“I will humbly submit that even for those of us who represent the county at the local level, I don’t believe that national politics is a spectator sport. I think we have every right to be involved and speak out.”
Alan Lomita was not alone in taking exception to some heavy bashing heaped on Rep. Maurice Hinchey, an outspoken critic of the Iraq War and Bush Administration. Hinchey argues that impeachment has no chance of making any headway in the current congress, and therefore would be counterproductive.
Activists, however, wanted a symbolic action, and that’s what they got, on a 20-9 vote. The resolution carries no legal weight.
