Dear Mr. Vedder,
Thank you. As a lover of all artistry, creativity and originality, I truly and sincerely appreciate your inspiring music and lyrics. I will try to make this as succinct as possible, but I do want to express them.
#1: "God's Dice" - - As I am not sure about your message within, may I ask if this was inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote: "A perfect equity adjusts its balance in all forms of life. THE DICE OF GOD ARE ALWAYS LOADED."?
#2: Currently and very unfortunately, I am only able to listen to 2 songs out of the vast catalog of all my favorite musicians - - "Grievance" & "Indifference."
They are helping, and I will get there, because I feel, or hope, that I have the psychological fortitude to, at least, sustain myself. So . . . thank you for the incredibly amazing music and lyrics contained within those two tracks . . . I listen to them frequently.
#3: "Binaural" & Irony: The album has recently become my personal favorite. That being said, I burnt one of the wires while writing, and now one of the ear pieces doesn't work . . . thus, leaving me only able to appreciate the music with one ear. It is my hope that you get a kick, chuckle, chortle or even a "Smile," another favorite tune of mine.
That is all for now, but . . . thanks, again, for I am already feeling better having written this.
Affectionately,
eamonpatrick
P.S. - I apologize for being long-winded.
Have a great day!

02. Gods' Dice
Written By: Ament
Album: Binaural
Release Date: 2000-05-16
Found On: Binaural
it's out of my hands, making your hands meet
stumble as it's crumbling out of reach
it's in the cards on destiny
your sanity in tow
designate my luck
ah resignate...
this power has no roots to guide, no role...
trust in rusted minds refused to go
unwillingness, it's meaningless to walk away in vain
designate my will
ah designate my fill
resignate
my will is crashing, synapses flashing slow
ah days like frame by frame, where do they go?
yeah why fight? forget it
cannot spend it after i go
roll 'em high...
throw them again...
all gods' dice...
monkey driven, call this living, hahah
ah too much thought, it's overwrought, a hole
minding yours, what's mine not yours
will finish us off
a-designate my life
ah designate my view
ah resignate my will, my will, my will, i will
resignate my god
good luck figuring this one out... to me, it's jeff asking "what the fuck???"0 -

more of a statement, if you ask me.
minding yours, what's mine not yours
will finish us off
an unfinished truth.

Q: wtf are you talking about?
A: hell if i know. it seems to be the words of a man in a corner, cornered. i haven't really thought about it much before.
Q: good tune.
A: yeah.

I appreciate the feedback. I will take it in and absorb it all. As a follow-up to point #3 in my original posting . . . my iPod was stolen, so now neither ear piece works, at least for me. Oh, and it was stolen from a library, of all places!"The legacy of Surrealism after 1968 must surely follow artists, writers, thinkers and activists who are committed to the power of the unconscious and to the imagination of other possible worlds."
