I was listening to Lost Dogs the other day and when "Don't gimme no lip" was on, I couldn't stop thinking on how the "crunchy" sound of his guitar riffs were awesome. That you take "Mankind", "Do the evolution" or even with BRAD ie "Secret girl" and "Sweet Al George"... I'm hoping that the next album will have that sound again... Oh, AND BRING BACK BRENDAN O'BRIEN!!!!

  • yep... thats what been missing most from the past few albums id say... not only a lack of distortion but some serious over production in the studio... everything sounds too clean...

although Mike is probably the soul of pj's guitar work, my favorite pj riffs are stone's riffs.

i'd also like to see stone have a greater influence on the musical direction pj persue in the future. he's written some of their best songs as well.

  • I wouldn't say the new albums sound to clean, I hear a ton of digital distortion.

I agree. However, until Ed relinquishes any of the total control he has over every aspect of the band and its artistic/songwriting/musical direction I doubt there is a snowball's chance in hell of Stone's 'style' or Brendan O'Brien making a comeback.

    Just my opinion.

I don't think Ed has total control any more. It's more of a democracy now. He hasn't had the final say since No Code.

    I miss Stone's writing.....

He's very underated compared to all the attention Mike gets.....

I mean, yeah, Mike deserves it, but Stone's ace too.....

Stone is my favourite songwriter out of the 5 brilliant musicians...and I miss Brendan O'Brien as well (btw what the fuck has happened to him? Why did he disappear from PJ albums???)
