Very famous pic of the great Jimi Hendrix.....used charcoal and smooth bristol paper. He appears to be having a cigarette there. ;)

  • Thanks you guys! I turned it in last night and people wouldn't leave it alone.....they started smuding it a bit. Have to fix it now and apply sprayfix to clean it up.

Pesky fellow students! Anyway, I think I may start doing more and more charcoal drawings, these are fun to do...Eddie might be next!
  • Absolutely amazing. Beautifully rendered.
  • Here's the original pic....I have more charcoal drawings, just need to scan them. Will do sometime soon!

    The Jimi is godly..

Adobe Illustrator? Sorry for the stupid question, how does that work?
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

It's very simple....but it takes time to get down.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Illustrator

You can make incredibly high quality images such as :

    Illustrator_CS3_Mac.png

You basically make shapes, and add text, shade, color, depth to the pic. This is an industry standard program, but it takes a long time to master.....like photoshop.

This is the program used to make t-shirts, hats, or the decals people put on cars. That Eddie pic, I could turn into any one of those if I wanted to. That's what made me laugh about all those people buying the Into The Wild t-shirts for 30 bucks at the show. It took someone literally like an hour to do the design on Adobe Illustrator, they handed the file to a t-shirt maker, they were pressed and sold for about a 3-4000% profit. Since those are just black shirts that cost a dollar or two.

  • I'm working on another Jimi....It's a stamp project. Found some sources, pieced them together in photoshop to make 1 solid fram, and this is where I am so far in Adobe Illustrator.

  • Thank you so much you guys! I had a pleasure doing it....I think the idea is half the battle with these things. I think I'm going to keep posting my stuff here, hopefully you can see improvement.

I've always wanted Jimi Hendrix on a stamp.....if Elvis got one, Jimi should be next! He's an american icon after all! :)

Nice job! I've been getting into a lot of graphic artistry lately, but I have no drawing talent. :geek: Excellent work! It resembles the picture perfectly.
