Stunning imagery. Very moody, and "real". Thanks for sharing.

I like them all. Very different from one image to the next. I really like the blue doorway, and the glass still life.

Here's some of my stuff, if you're interested. Haven't updated any of this in a while.

    Thanks Paper!

I looked at your website and you have some great photos on there as well....why not start a thread here and show ppl?
It seems that we have the same kind of style almost. Dont know how to explain..maybe same kind of atmosphere though the chosen compositions.
And you also seem to like a strong contrast in light/dark and colors.
    Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Thanks! This photo is actually a diapositive and when that one its projected its even madder in its colors than it is now. I had to enhance the colors after I scanned the positive, but this is almost what it looked like in real life! Its taken in a beautiful convent in Arequipa, Peru. Everything there has amazing colors and light. But when I saw this complimentary contrast....wow...

A big "thanks" right back at you. Ive been a photographer for years, working professionally for about 4 years now. I actually am contractually bound to not post most of the images I take, my "better ones" so to speak. But anything I shoot on my own time, is mine. But between working 50/week and kids, my "own time" is limited.

Wow...a professional photographer..well, a double thanks for the compliments then! What kind of photos do you make for your job then? Do you work for a newspaper/magazine or something?
I am always thinking if I want to go further into photograhy, but I reckon I will enjoy it more as a hobby though. So much other stuff I am interested in as well...!

    Goodluck with your work!

I work for a studio. My boss does MOST of the portraiture, ranging from quick/cheap sittings to $1000 dollar sittings, depending on what the clientele is looking for. We also do sports portraiture in studio, as well as your more typical "T&I" stuff. We also do alot of sports action, and thats primarily where I come in. We are the exclusive photographers for a local college, Lehigh University. We do their headshots, their action, and almost every image on their website/program/guides are mine. Im not so much a professional as I am a professional in training. While I love shooting action, I really want to eventually be in the studio, interacting with people. Right now its definitely a great way to learn, since I shoot the image, I edit it, I post it, then when it sells, I print it. Our company discourages one dimensionality, and our boss insists that everyone knows everyone elses job.

Keep at it, you have a wonderful perspective, and a great eye. Im finally getting paid to do something I'd honestly do for free, and its more satisfying than I dreamed it could be.

While going through some slides from my last holiday in France I came across this one...
I remember this moment so well, the girl was playing with the leaf and her father was standing beside her. I had my lens pointed at her, but gave her dad a look first and he nodded in approval. The first photo I took was just a sec too late and then I shot this one.

Please let me know what you think of it...maybe a bit too softy...??

Wow, it's a really nice photo
Makes me reminisce (sp?) about the innocence of childhood again :D

Would you think of her growing up to be a though business-woman or a vicious world-leader, when you look at this photo? NO !!! kids are wonderful and we should all return to a child-like state of mind....

This is a pure photo, so natural, like it a lot
    Thanks for sharing :)

BTW : stll waiting for that PM, francisca *taps foot on wooden floor, a bit annoyed* :p

To be honest, this one doesn't do much for me, but your landscape photos are stunning.
It doesn't matter if you're male, female, or confused; black, white, brown, red, green, yellow; gay, lesbian; redneck cop, stoned; ugly; military style, doggy style; fat, rich or poor; vegetarian or cannibal; bum, hippie, virgin; famous or drunk-you're either an asshole or you're not!

No I am an Art-teacher at a highschool and also study Cultural Anthropology part-time. I dont make much art these days anymore and mostly shoot photos during the holidays.

I am looking forward to seeing your website!

  • Your images of children are stunning! I especially love the first two photos. Are the children Peruvian or from Nunavut? The landscape photos are breath taking.
I especially like the little curly haired girl, intrigued with the ripples of the water, almost touching. Or was she pulling away. Is it just me or do I see a murky, blurried vision of a man wearing a fedora also. It's like he's reflected in the fountain, towards top left of her index finger.
I will check out yourblog. Thanks for posting these works of art.

  • By the way, have the colours in that boat image been altered?

Thanks so much!! The kids are from the peruvian Andes, some really small villages up in the mountains where I did research for my study. Some of them loved to be modelling for me..haha. The little girl was French. She was playing with the water and a leaf and did that very graciously..so had to atke a picture. Dont believe there was a man standing there..?

    Thanks again for the compliment!
