Since my other thread with regards to a mirror image camera died a death I guess ill just look for a normal good one.

So what kind of camera have ya'll got?

Or if you have some suggestions thats good too.
Id like to keep the price within reason, maybe £200, i just purchased an xbox 360 so my pockets are a little empty, lol.

I have a Kodak camera but im not really digging it.

I have a Minolta that I just love. The original body broke down after about 20 years and I actually went on ebay to find the exact, used body to have again. Call me old school but I and others enjoy the pictures I take.

I have been looking at the new, digital cameras. But since I don't have the gear at home to do all the work that comes with it. I stick to negatives, film and a much better picture. ;)

    Hey, thanks for the reply.

I think it'll be the digital camera's ill be sticking to as i dont have the things necessary for dealing with negatives. Although the pictures are in most cases better, i know.

Also, what do you mean by ALL the work with digital camera's?.... Isnt it less work? lol

I don't really own a home computer. So that in itself makes having a digital camera useless. :) So there would be more work for me. ;) Like I said.....I am so old school.

Good luck with finding one that you like.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

If you're gonna go digital, go Nikon. They accept almost all older nikon lenses, so you can easily go buy an older used lens to cover the full gamut of focal lengths. D70, d50, d80 are all good options. If you're gonna buy a new cam, might as well go SLR so you have more options and control.

    Just my 2 cents.

Excuse my ignorance.... but what does SLR mean?
  • I use a canon powershot A75 (3.2mp). It's pretty old now.

This is the one I really want, but am still saving up for:

It's kind of in-between a point and shoot and an dslr but without all the hassle of having to change the lenses. Good optical zoom too.

    Single Lens Reflex

It just means the lens is interchangeable.

That does look like a beauty, little out of my price range at the moment too though.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, ill check em out.

    :)
  • I have a Canon Powershot A70
Next month, for my birthday I'll have a Canon EOS 350D (woohoo!)

And I also have an old, analogue Chinon CEII that I've never really used - I should.

    Nikon D100

    28-200mm Nikkor

    12-24mm wide angle
  • I bought the Canon EOS 30D in November and I can't say enough good stuff about it. I absolutely love it. It's a life-changer for sure......in terms of pictures at least.....the quality is out of this world.......

For Christmas I got a zoom lens 75-300mm and it's dynamite as well.

    http://www.canon.ca/digitalphotography/english/product_article.asp?id=1005&cid=12

Next up, Fish-Eye Lens so I can go out and take my very own "Rearviewmirror" kind of shots. I can't wait.

If you're not looking for SLR, I recommend a Lumix. I've had mine for about 5 years now and it's still goin' strong. It takes great pictures, it's compact, and has a nice size screen.

And if you don't mind forkin' out the cash for film, get a polaroid. They're so much fun. But at $15 for 10 pics, it gets a bit ridiculous.
  • I still have a Nikon f2 from late 70s

20/04/06 - The Astoria alley crew + got to shake Ed's hand
    25/04/06 -Jools Show + got Mike's autograph
