Nice. I haven't ever played with balck and white really. Occasionally I turn a colour shot into balck and white in photoshop to see if it looks better, but usually I'm trying so hard to accurately capture the colours I don't even think of it. Here's another one.

Brilliant work my friend! The first one you posted was just brilliant! Like concrete water or something... magic! The black and white tree roots - loved it! and the branches with the green leaves (so much direction yet no defined start/finish) - too too good!

Yep, I'm still in Israel, but the photos are from all over the place, Australia, California, Israel, Greece. The first one was taken free diving off the beach back home. I went to take photos of the marine life, but the visibility was too crappy, so I played around with getting the sunlight on the surface from below. The dirty water made the sunlight split into beams, and I got lucky with the bubbles. Now I know how it happened I want to try to do it again. I almost dragged myself through the winter air down to the beach to try it last weekend, but I only got about 100m from my flat before it started raining. . .

i'm sorry i haven't discovered your thread before scubascott! your work is fantastic! a lot of unique angles and close up concepts. my favourite is the tree with the mess of roots, then the sand as the water is gliding off it, and the underwater shots that you took on your back. please keep it up and keep sharing with us! you may say you're an amatuer at this, but it looks like you have an eye of a pro. thanks again for sharing.

I think you've found your calling! You need to get in touch with National Geographic, IMO.
Have you taken any courses? Are you interested in being a professional photographer? I think that'd be such a cool career--you'd get to travel a lot to beautiful places, no doubt and do something you love....:) At any rate, don't let your talent go to waste, and although it's great to post here and get feedback, I personally think you could really benefit from getting them seen by people in the business. I don't know how you'd go about doing that but I think you should seriously find out if you really love photography and it seems like you do.

Thanks again for the feedback guys. Nope, I've never taken any courses. This is just a hobby for me. I'd like to take it a bit more seriously, but not at this stage in my life. Maybe when I take a break from travelling, and after the next Pearl Jam tour, I'll be able to afford to upgrade my camera. I feel pretty limited with one I use now, especially underwater.
Anyway here's another one. Fom Catalina Island. Its incredible that such a beautiful place can exist so close to the horrible, graffiti-covered, smog-choked cesspool that is Los Angeles.
