Hotel help for Chicago Vedder shows....

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't booked their hotel yet. I just got a $60 offer accepted ($76 after tax) and was given the Hyatt Regency....this hotel normally costs well over $200. **Important...This price is ONLY available for an 8/21 check-in and 8/22 check-out.** That's Thursday night. It does NOT work for Wednesday night...there's some big convention downtown that has all the Wednesday night hotels snatched up or going for $200+. The Hyatt is a 4-star hotel in the Millenium Park area (very close to the Auditorium Theatre) so you MUST make those your specific selections when doing Priceline. Anyway, hope this helps out a few people.

That is a great hotel right on Michigan and Wacker. My room mate from college and best friend in the world is the HR director there.

Behave yourselves or she will put a hurt on you.

I'm staying at the club quarters central loop for $121/night Friday through Sunday, before taxes. Anyone going to the Cubs game on Saturday?

I'm staying at the Hilton too! $149 state employee rate. Maybe I should do it on Priceline? What do you enter for info on Priceline to get the Hilton?

I received the hilton also on priceline. It's a four star hotel!!!
Go to the website and check out the photo's ;)
I entered $60.00 a night and wasn't accepted at that price,so i then just entered $85.00 a night and was accepted.

Go to the priceline website and you'll see a link just below william shatner that say's "Name your own price".Click the link.Enter chicago and then another link will drop down from that.Click the bottom link(chicago,IL.)
Enter the dates you wanna stay and how many rooms.Hit green Bid Now button.
You will now be brought to a new page.Click on #4.Click on 4 star hotel first.
I tried 4 star myself when i originally entered $60.00 per night like the original poster here did,but like i said,i was denied that amount.
I didn't want to get rejected again,so i entered the $85.00 a night and only
3 star hotel.I was excited to learn i was accepted at that price, but was REALLY happy to see that i was upgraded to a 4 star hotel !
My total price after taxes came to $204.51
That's only $102.25 per night for a 4 star hotel. Not bad if i say so myself.

I probably could have gotten it for less if i would of entered anywhere between $65 to $80 a night. But i'm very happy with what i was given. :)
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for the 2 pearl jam shows back in 2006 and it was a GREAT hotel.I had it reserved for these 2 Ed show's for $504.00 for 2 night's until i saw this thread and thought i would give priceline a crack.
Once accepted,i immediately called the Hyatt and canceled that reservation, thereby saving myself $300 :);)
Thank you so much for starting this thread!!! I think i owe you a beer.

The James is supposed to be a sweet hotel.

The Sofitel (Rush St. area) is pretty cool and sometimes has ok prices.

The Senica is also in a great location (near the John Hancock building on Michigan Ave.) and often times has affordable apartment-style rooms.

Damnit! So, I tried the Priceline and it gave me the Hyatt Regency Chicago, which is a lot further North of the venue than I was wanting to be. It's all the way up on Wacker. I was originally booked at the Hilton 2 blocks south, but figured I'd try priceline to save $50. So, if anyone wants a room at the Hyatt...let me know and we can try to figure something out.

I stayed there for Lollapalooza last year and stayed on the same floor as King of Leon, I also was there over Christmas time...when I go to Chicago it's the only hotel I care to stay at

wacker isn't that far of a walk from congress. plus if the walk is too much, you can always hop on a cta line for $2 or take a taxi for???

I thought Wacker was a lot further north than what it really is. For some reason I get all sorts of turned around in Chicago.

Wacker bends east just before the Chicago River, you're really only just over a mile away from the theater, and in a much better location for everything else compared to the Hilton. I'd stay where you are.
