10Club's intentions are SO good, but execution SO awfully bad.

I know for a fact that ticketmaster could have set up this presale so that our 10club email addresses are the password. I bought tickets for another band that had their "fanclub" sales directly through ticketmaster. All they did was made it so that the password was your email address minus the "@ and ."
In other words, Kat's password would be "kattenclubnet". That way all the passwords are person specific, and for the most part impossible to figure out unless you know a fanclub member and are dick-enough to use their email address. With the way they're doing this, the password is GOING to get out and will be in everyone's hands by Wednesday, there's no doubt about it. Why didn't they tell TicketMaster to not include the fanclub presale info on the ticket-buying page for MSG until maybe Wednesday morning? There's no reason they had to post it now. Now every scalper out there has TWO DAYS to scour the internet AND THIS MESSAGE BOARD for the password. Someone on here will undoubtedly be unwise enough to post it on this, or another, public forum, and then everyone's screwed. I'm not going to this show, but I just feel bad that when they do stuff like this, that is SO WELL INTENTIONED they don't take more precautions.....it seems there's so very little attempt to "outfox the fox" if you know what I mean. But, whatever. It's just a fucking concert, I guess.

I wouldn't say it's terrible though. People are getting a chance. And, they are doing the right thing by putting these seats behind the 10 clubbers that got seats the first time. Is it perfect? No. But nothing ever is. In my opinion, 10c did a good job here. They didn't have to go out there to do this for us you know. Let's thank them, instead of being hypercritical. Your scalper situation is going to be far in the minority of what will happen in this scenario. So just chill, 10c is doing their best, and I think, a very good job.

Bottom line, more people are happy about this than upset, because there are hundreds of 10c members that missed out on tickets. It isn't perfect, but it's giving them opportunities. For every 1 that might get scalped, there will be 20, 30, 40, 50, that get their tickets because of 10c doing something they didn't have to. 10c is looking out for it's members and should be commended.

They should have just done what they did in 04 and given us each individual passwords that were in our profile. It worked well enough for the VFC tour.

I think this time around TM had more to do with it.

Yeah, some asshole will prolly give out the PW or whatever, & obviously some tix will get into the wrong hands. But as someone else said, this gives the members who missed out a great chance, & even 10club realizes that it's worth the risk of a few bad seeds taking advantage to do the best for their members. 10club definitely went above & beyond this time to help us out. Yeah, they maybe could have given individual pw's, & they also definitely coulda said "fuck it" & not done anything at all. Some people are never happy. Seriously, just appreciate what they did instead of always finding something to criticize.

    Thanks 10club. :)

I think it's nice they're trying this though. It gives people another chance to try to get tickets. :)
