Opatija
Dubrovnik

I can almost feel time go backwards to a more simpler day and age when looking at those pics.
The whole cityscape from the danube is incredible.
If you have any interest in reading about how I found the city, I had a few posts in my blog where I reminisced about the people I met in Budapest, and getting drunk in a huge international circle of new acquiantences in front of St. Stephens Bassilica

Beautiful!!
And your new sketch is just lovely too, girlywhirl! TAL-N-TED!
Budapest...incredibly beautiful!!!
Eddie: Dublin & London
lol!! that's awesome!
my father's parents are from Croatia too! that's why I decided to visit there... see what it was all about... it was gorgeous!!
my mom's family is German... I'll get there soon, i hope.
In the meantime, my trip to Budapest was a really great experience... visiting people that live there is really rewarding, instead of just doing the tourist thing...
thanks everyone, for checking out the pics... i'm glad you liked 'em!
i don't think they know how beautiful it is over there!! great pics!!
yes, it seems to be a bit misunderstood....
the Adriatic Coast is stunning... I hope your friends didn't discourage your decision to go...
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
and I'll overdo it'
Thanks Champ! Hungary was an amazing place...
Do you make good goulash??
Where mortar shells hit the Stradun (the main street in Old Town Dubrovnik):
Across the cove in this pic, you can see the remains of the Hotel Libertas, which was destroyed in the war - it is now under construction and being re-built.... my villa happened to be right next to it:
I don't, but my mom makes the best!! There is nothing better than simple peasant food and for this reason I visit my mom as often as possible...My parents are actually heading to Hungary tomorrow for a two week vacation...

stunningly beautiful scenery and architecture, and some great captures. thanks so much for sharing them with us. it must have been like stepping into a fairytale or taking a step back in time. some of those oceanfront shots are simply breathtaking.
i'm happy for you that you were able to see it.
thanks Lighthousekeeper
here's a couple I took for you while i was on the boat heading down the Adriatic coast to Dubrovnik, in case you missed 'em....
