so we got closer
and i swore i'd never tell
nobody stopped
but we knew that this wouldnt end well
i still cant answer if im happier now
cause i dont know how it will end
but does it matter what you gain
if you lose a friend?
so i still debate if it was worth it anyway
ive learned now
what i did cant be fixed with what i say

we are as good as before
thankfully, i was scared i'd have to leave
i guess i shouldnt be surprised
we've lived our whole lives
with tricks up our sleave
something changed but it was nothing i did
i will look for the truth
but i know you can keep it well hid
with trap doors and unfinished sentences

so while everyone finds where they belong
i feel like the only one who has to move on
and to make sure you never see
i act like it doesnt bother me
i figure that you can only do so much
even if its not enough
you will never see in the dark
if your eyes cant adjust

how do you know to take a chance?
the kite will only come down
if you pull the string
and now i am sure
that love is wanting to remember everything
