catch me

sunrise...
creeps beneath the door
i have been here before
i recognize my footprints
scattered 'cross the floor

but i am just a remnant
a shadow of myself
dawn's finger
wipes a dust line
on the shelf

and here i am
tracing time in yellow lines
who is here...

twilight...
tip-toe on a wave
or drive a road unpaved
i resurrect some roses
from your lonely grave
but they don't smell the same
on the shelf

and here i am
tracing time in yellow lines
who is here...
to catch me
if I fall?

I really like the sound of the words.

For example, "tracing time in yellow lines" works so well. :)
It doesn't quite rhyme, but I can still hear the similarity between time and lines.

dont take roses from the dead! thats why they dont smell the same, cause they are probably gettin old, why would you put them on a shelf?
