And yes, don't get up and arms about this. As far as Pearl Jam fans go, that's right; Vedder made them famous. Maybe a few people my age would know them but anybody younger than 35, I highly doubt they knew anything about Crowded House, unless they have an older sibling or a friend or something.
As for me, I heard about them back when I was in Turkey when they first got famous in what? early nineties, late eighties maybe? That song, "Don't Dream It's Over" was playing like gazillion times a day on the radio every day. Thank God, it's actually a pretty decent song, so it took a long time for it to become annoying. But then, for a while, I forgot about them, until when? That's right, folks, until that day where Vedder took the stage with his good buddy Neil for the first time. So, yeah, thank you Ed for making me go back to my last year in high school and get re-acquainted with this band (showing my age on purpose)
I think you're nuts. I'm 19 and just about everyone I know has heard of Crowded House for "Don't Dream It's Over" alone, yes, but lord knows not because of Eddie Vedder.Yield!
