into a corner
washed my face
in your negative thoughts
cleaned each pore
we're poor, poor animals
searching for a home

i sometimes think
i'm washing ashore
just to find myself
further away from the dunes
that block my view
of your parking car
by somebody else's house

but i'd run for office
in a leveled city
just to face your fears
or find the hope
that i've crashed
on a beach
and started a fire

while i could comb beaches bald
sand paper smooth

or bomb every intersection

filled with the speeding home
carpenters of carpetless rooms
