they call it the limelight but it's bittersweet
story after story, each window telling another
lives with holes leftover from nails
a dead carpenter, a bloody hand
nailbeds and beds of nails
one minus one now equals two
lists of lists of things that need to be listed
phonebooks full of relatives we never knew
gina, accept my apology, please
they call it the limelight
but my outside creates a shadow and my inside is dark
