it's your emotions it's my palms
it's the things i hide in the shade
on sunny days instead of burning
dress me up to fail
sing to me dismay
your lips are beautiful
that moment we stopped and stared
at each other, i felt it
we have similar dreams
one growthspurt after another
one long view across the bay
to the skyline of the barrier island
one more false hope
it's your smile i like
and the sand in my shoes

i have a heart full of loss to lose

  • i really enjoyed this one. to me, it shows that hope and love are available to everyone, even those who may have given up. then again, i could see an argument for interpreting it the opposite way. i'll stick with mine though
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."

  • Wow, you know it's funny, I wrote this piece and then typed it up and I wasn't that impressed by it. But, I figured I'd post it anyway.

And I come back and read the comments and I reread the piece and to be honest, it really is quite good and I thank you all for the feedback.
