the divided halves of our mouths never became stuck on frozen poles without prior knowledge of the way fate gets you in your sleep. alone, green, the forest hides camouflaged ready to pounce on any landform not yet tainted by a significant landmark. trumpets usher in heaven's morning; the fires of hell illuminate the dusk, as if the sun were too sentimental to set. all these things make me cringe when the pawnshop closes and i am stranded in the parking lot with arms full of gold.
