i got the memo, i'll be going to hell
i was told to bring:
clean socks, shaving cream,
my entire dvd collection,
hope,
a new understanding,
a silverware set,
picture frames and pictures,
my smile, my laugh,
and my memories
of yours

i don't understand why
my entire life i've never been able to
just knock on your door
and say hello

the heavens of heathens
are full
they've got no more room for me

circles and stoplights
are lies
that highlight themselves
and horror films
aren't much different
and so this is goodbye
truths that lie in wait
are counting on me walking off of your porch with my head down
