so the wind picked up
where it left off:
shooting through the sniper scopes
that started as windows
on our childhood homes
where we welcomed parades
of dust particles in the early morning sun
shooting in at our couch

and we killed the messenger
with kindness
warm shelter and homemade soup
and comfortable clothes
but the stones have been thrown
at the thrones of each king
that we've ever known and

i haven't seen you
in so long . . .

and so long

    First thing I've read on here in months or a year and I have to say amazing.
    I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.
