inhale! inhale!
the message is coming
the bread has been cut
with a vengeance
never before seen
the table has seen its share
of crumbs, tattered,
war-torn remnants
of conversations, full mouths
may not inhale
but the night remains:
gifted, an unfortunate boy
writes you poems in the dark

I like the almost epigram-style of this. Do you do much spoken word in performance?
  • i of course appreciate your nice words. but i learned at a young age to stay silent in public, like a basement windchime or an honest presidential candidate. i have learned to veer off roads to better accomodate others, and of course, never to sneeze without god's blessing. i consult my priest for everything. i wallow in self-remorse, i loathe consequence. i thank you for your consideration, but i'd just-as-soon tie myself to the beds of all the professors who don't take bribes, as act like i'm any sort of worthwhile poet.
