if my appendages worked
i'd cartwheel in place
clockwise and stoic
bridge-selling mayhem
the confusion of lowtide

i'd imagine, myself
juggling feet
as hot coals have been known to do
i have held on
to the hope i've created

and someday
you'll settle down
far away from the sunrise
and regardless
find yourself well-lit
