on the fireplace
frame the time
it took to make me
lose my footing
on your burning-
coal-colored heart
it's a start
and i'm still buried

up to my chest
and i scream
like there's no tomorrow
as good as today
when the sun is a bomb
for a hirojima horizon
i'm still trying
and i'm still impressed

by the wind intrinsic
to the words that you spill
on a canvas implanted
so deep in my ears
that the reason won't reach
like the limbs of a tree
to a bird in a cage
and i'm saved
and i'm still alone

  • Wow I don't know how I managed to fuck up Hiroshima by mixing it up with Iwo Jima. I was typing it up really quickly from the safety of my notebook and totally blew it. Whoops.
