ms. donovan, i fell for you that night we walked on the jetty under a pale, full moon

what i miss about you
is a needle through thread
ten bodies of water surrounded by land
teeth shield the tongues
where the rails line the stairs
and i still care
for you

and i miss
the particles that orbit
the moons that orbit
the planets that orbit
the stars that orbit
god
that you asked about me

and the hair stays still
on the heads in the pictures
that sit in my room
i am a tragedy teathered
to the anchor i dropped
by you before you walked away
